Remove and replace the control display

Good Afternoon Mr. Stevenson,

I see that you are looking for instructions on how to remove and replace the control display on your Electrolux range, model# EW30ES65GS. First, I do suggest having an authorized technician to make repairs such as these, so you're not left with any other damage to your appliance. Second, while I don't know of an actual instruction manual that will help to replace the control display panel, I have attached a link that will take you to a parts breakdown manual.

How to replace control board

You just need a screw driver to install the display control panel.
To install the part, do the following:
Turn off the unit and unplug it.
You need to remove the screws on the back of the unit and remove the back. It slides up. Then slide the sides toward the back. You need to remove the side without the water canister. The side with the water canister just needs to be slid back enough to reveal the screws at the top front of the unit holding the display. Remove those screws on both sides and gently pull the top front display cover off. There is a long ribbon (similar to one found on a hard drive in a computer, which is exactly what this is) with a clip that attaches to the main control panel on the left side of the unit. Remove that (noting how and where it attaches - I mark everything), take apart the inside of the front panel to reveal the display board, remove and replace it along with the water tight seal. Plug the new display into the control board, reattach the top front panel to the body of the machine, reinstall the water container, plug it in and turn it on to see if it works. Mine did and so I reinstalled the sides - they just slide forward, then I reattached the back and the machine was good to go.
Hope these instructions help.

DISPLAY NOT WORKING, BUT OTHERWISE EVERYTHING ELSE IS FINE

You can order the part from appliancefactoryparts.com

You need to replace the entire control board. The display is built into it, but it is easy to replace.

There is a long ribbon (similar to one found on a hard drive in acomputericon1.png, which is exactly what this is) with a clip that attaches to the main control panel on the left side of the unit. The printer does not recognize a new cartridge when I install it. Also, I think the old ink cartridge was still good.

Title:
I replaced my ink cartridge, but the LCD is still displaying "Ink Empty". What can I do? Description: This is typically caused by an incorrect selection made during the LCD prompting after a cartridge is replaced. When an ink cartridge(s) is replaced, the LCD will ask, "Have you removed Blck? 1 Yes 2 No". This question will be asked for ALL 4 colors in sequence, regardless if the color was replaced. If "1 Yes" is NOT selected for the color(s) that was replaced, the LCD will return to "Ink Empty". Do the following to clear the message:

  1. Pull the scanner cover release lever located below the control panel and lift the top cover.

  1. After 15 seconds, re-close the top cover and then re-close the control panel cover.

  2. The LCD will then display Have you removed Blck? 1 Yes 2 No.
The LCD will display this question for ALL 4 colors (not just the ones replaced). BE SURE to select 1 YES for each ink cartridge that was replaced.
If 1 Yes is selected, the LCD will then display Change to new (color)? 1 Yes 2 No. Again, BE SURE to select 1 YES.
Note "Change to new (color)?" will only appear if 1 Yes is selected for "Have you removed (color)?" If 2 NO is selected for the "removed" question, the LCD will then move on to the question for the next color.
