How to hook-up the ice maker to the water line I have a Kenmore coldspot that is 3 years old but was just given to me. I cant figure out how to hook up the water line to the back. HELP!
What you have in the back is a 1/4 tube which will feed cold water to the icemaker.
go to any hardware store and ask for an icemaker supply line kit. It will consist of a tapping valve, about ten feet of 1/4 inch tubing and a straight connector.
it will also contain step by step instructions.
You will have to determine what cold water line to tap into that is accessable. Perhaps the kitchen sink cold water supply if it is on the same wall as the refrigerator. Many times the line is run up from the basement.
enjoy your new icemaker.
I just buy a refrigerator with ice maker for my apt that I rent but the spot for refrigerator is not next to the sink. can I still hook up the the ice maker. If so how and what do I need? thanks
Hi, If you purchase a water line kit, it will come with all the fittings you need. There should be a inlet valve behind the rear panel in back. You need a 1/4" line with fitting. It also comes with a saddle valve you need to hook up the water supply. These can be found at any hardware store.
If I can assist you further, please let me know.

yes you need to hook up a line froun the cold water supply of the house to the water valve that is located at the back of the ref to the water valve that is down at the botton right corner
follow the water line from the top going into the icemaker down to the bottom there is where the valve is located behind the back cover
