To get the operating instructions for your phone, you need to also know the model number of the base, not just the handset. Look under the base for the number, then go to this site...

Once you are there, go to the tab "knowledge base" and type in "manual". Selecting the option to look up operating instructions will allow you to select the phone base that is compatible with your phone.

it sounds like u have fitted a cheap double phone line adapter try removing same and see if sound improves

You're getting electrical interference, probably near the base unit since you hear it on all the phones. Try moving the base unit to the other side of the desk (away from say a clock or radio), or check where your phone wire going to the base unit is running. It may be laying on top of an electrical cord or going across some other electrical device that has a motor.

There should be a 2 or 3 digit number that you can recall on the main base. Once you have that number you call your number and as the answering machine starts press # then enter the number. Hope this helps.

For the speakerphone switching phone off problem, substitute the 630 mAh Ni-MH battery that comes with the phone with a better Ni-Mh battery of higher mAh such as Duracell or better yet eneloop.
