Message Greeting Need to change voice greeting of previous owner. When my phone rings, caller hears greeting from someone else after three rings although mine is set to 5 ring on local carrier

  • Anonymous Mar 24, 2014

When a call comes in it will not go to my voicemail even though my vm is set up. The phone just rings endlessly or until the incoming caller hangs up.

The KX-T7456 is a proprietary system phone. You have a Panasonic phone system and a voice mail, both separate items with their own part number. Your phone can work on several different systems and use different voice mail so your first step is to determine the part numbers from the system and voice mail. Then you will need a "programming" manual or possibly "administrator's manual" NOT a "user guide" for at least your voice mail and maybe for the system as well.

I have put a main greeting on my Norstar M7310 phone for all 5 incoming lines, however one of our incoming lines has grabbed a personal message form another extension and callers get that personal message...

You need to know what extension is causing the forward directly to voice mail. Chances are that this extension has ringing lines programmed to it and the forward on busy is to voice mail. ANY PHONE THAT HAS RINGING LINES SHOULD NOT BE SET TO FORWARD ON BUSY. If they happen to be on the phone when a call comes in it will go straight to their personal mailbox.

Is this an IP Office?
This is how it works. For some reason the IP Office waits for teh first 2 rings to get caller ID, and then lets the call ring in.
