OVEN WON'T IGNITE - JUST WONDERING IF THE THOUGHT IS IGNITER OR IF THERE IS SOMETHING ELSE I SHOULD CHECK BEFORE

One of the relays on the relay control might be faulty, in that case a new board is probably required.
Or the igniter has an issue...Igniters are the number one cause of an oven not turning on. Igniters open the safety valve and heat up to ignite the gas in the burner assembly. It can be tested with a multimeter for continuity and replaced if necessary.

(also called the gas valve) is the part that ensures that gas is not released until the igniter has reached the correct temperature needed to ignite the gas. While this part can fail, it is uncommon. If the hot surface igniter does not glow you should first verify that you have voltage to the circuit. This is a live voltage check and should be performed by a qualified person. Mod# xfg374lvq stove: Both the oven and the broiler will ignite, but only stay on for a few seconds. It does not try to reignite. Is this the control module?

The oven sensor: works with the oven control board to regulate the oven temperature. If there is an oven temperature problem, this sensor might be defective. The sensor can be tested by using an ohm meter. As temperature rises, the resistance measurement also rises. The manufacturer of the oven sensor determines the correct resistance, Oven temperature problems can be caused by other things, but this is one of the common causes.
Beware on some models now most of these ovens they are electronic and they are integrated into the control itself
some different sensor ohm readings at room temp. approx 16 ohms at room temperature and at 350?F it is 29~33 ohms.

I have a Kenmore Gas Wall Oven Model Number 911.30469894. When BAKE is selected, temperature shows 100 degrees and the oven never starts up or gets hot. BROIL works fine. Thank you, John

The oven control supplies voltage to the oven igniter/gas valve circuit. When the oven control is set to Bake, voltage is supplied to the oven igniter which should glow bright red to almost white hot. Once the igniter comes on and begins to glow it must pull enough current to cause the gas valve to open so the burner can ignite from the igniter. I added an image below with the theory of operation. ----Open the broiler drawer and then set the oven control to bake and watch to see if the glow bar igniter glows or not. If it does not glow, the failure could be a broken Igniter, failed oven control board or gas valve. If the igniter is glowing red, then it can be possible that gas valve is faulty. Also to confirm, check to see if the igniter is getting 120 volts when it's turned on. If it gets 120 volts, then your safety gas valve is bad because it's not letting the neutral go through. Otherwise, if it's NOT getting 120 volts, your control board shorted out and you need a new control board.
But as you mentioned that control board is replaced. So igniter should get 120 volts. If valve is faulty. But if igniter is not glowing then its faulty igniter confirmed.

Vulcan convection oven model SG4d-1 will not ignite burners

Gas does not ignite. No spark. No Ignition light is not ON.
1. Shorted electrode on igniter/flame sense.
2. Igniter cable (high voltage) OPEN.
3. Heat relay malfunction.
4. Centrifugal switch in blower motor inoperative.
5. Transformer inoperative.
6. High limit thermostat open.
7. Interconnecting wiring malfunction.
8. Ignition module malfunction.

Sparks but gas does not ignite.

1. Gas solenoid valve off or inoperative.
2. Manual gas valve closed.
3. Gas supply OFF or insufficient gas pressure.

Oven takes 5 minutes to come on (ignite).

Replaced the igniter. The parts guy told me that the amperage changes with age and use; thus the igniter still glows, but it takes much longer to operate the gas valve with the reduced amperage. Cost - $70.14

My Amana gas oven won't heat up gas smell strong

Sounds like a sticking gas valve or a defective hot surface igniter. Open the broiler drawer or remove the bottom cover in the oven compartment. The oven usually has a hot surface igniter or a spark igniter. Turn on the oven and watch for the hot surface igniter to start glowing. It should glow very bright. Once it is glowing the burner gas should come on. If you hear the gas come on it should light right away. If there is any delay shut off the oven and stay back. Let the gas clear out then inspect the area near the igniter and make sure the burner is not plugged(the little holes may have debris in them). If you turn on the oven and the igniter comes,glows brightly,no gas is heard but you can smell gas it is either a blocked burner orfice/assembly or sticking gas control valve. Try giving the burner and gas control valve a tap and see if it comes on. If you tap the control valve and it starts working then shut of the oven and try it several times. If it starts to come on and off now you may have cleared whatever debris was causing the problem. If it does it again then it could be the control valve or a weak hot surface igniter. The igniter can be tested with a ohm meter. Most of the time when I get this complaint it is the oven control valve that is sticking. Be very careful when doing these procedures....gas can build up in the oven compartment very quicky and flash if ignited. Always have the gas shut off valve at the back of the range within reach and the electrical outlet in case you need to unplug it.
