Please see the following blog article, as it describes the use of a card reader as a much easier, faster, and less error prone way to download your photos. In fact there are several important reasons discussed in the article for using a card reader vice downloading from the camera. USB Card readers are also very inexpensive these day, with cost virtually not an issue:

Downloading pictures from coolpix l120 to hp laptop compaq presrio with only usb cord

The computer doesn't know what the camera is without the software. You can download the software from the nikon website. Easier fixes are available. If it is a notebook (laptops arent laptops anymore more) you should have a card reader slot on the left side of your computer. Remove the SD card from the camera and plug it into their computer. Then you'll have the option to import the pictures.

Forget the dock. Get a card reader and use it to download the pics to a folder you create on your desktop.

I bought a used vivitar vivicam 8025 off ebay and it didnt come with the software can i download it somewhere ??? ( i have a Imac)

You can download the manual if you need it, and you can request the Vivitar Experience software.

You might want to consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

How do i get the picx off the jazz when it didnt come with any software

There are also plenty of photo catalog software packages out there, some free, some not, that can transfer and catalog your pictures so you can quickly find pictures from Susie's birthday party, for example. Just do a google search for "photo catalog software".

My jazz didnt come with any software to load on my computer so that i could view my photos. my jazz is the jdc27 how do i go about getting the software so that my computer will let me view my pics

You don't really need any software to use your camera.

You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive.

But despite what I said first... There are plenty of photo catalog software packages out there, some free, some not, that can transfer and catalog your pictures so you can quickly find pictures from Susie's birthday party, for example. Just do a google search for "photo catalog software".

I was given a s500 and it didnt come with a cd-rom how can i put the pictures and videos on my computer

If your computer has a memory card reader, the easiest thing to do is take the memory card out of the camera and copy the files directly from the card. If your computer does not have a card reader, you might consider buying an external card reader that plugs in to one of the USB connections.

If you were given the USB cable that originally came with the camera, you can plug the camera in to the computer that way and copy the pictures from the camera.

Here is the address of Samsung's download page for this camera where you can get the manual and software if you want them.

this lead you directly to what you need. though you can still pass your pictures to your computer by connecting the usb. which means there no real need for the software.
