Mono I was in my tv menu because my daughter lost my remote, i went into something and now my tv is stuck on mono. Can you help me with this issue?

Look for MTS or SAP button on remote if not there check under audio menu

there could be a few issues. It could be the speakers themselves. I believe this tv has an audio out. I would hook it up to a stereo and see if it that improves it. It could also be something internal like the amplifier. You have a couple options but I would just use a stereo for sound. If you still need more assistance let me know. new batteries. But that won't solve the problem if the universal remote apply other code. when the original remote is applied, you touch the tv icon to be sure you are using the correct parameters. When it still won't solve the problem you go to the ir circuit on the set. the reason may be because of the accumulation of the dust and dirt on the buttons.

It will usually default to Stereo and still show mono--answer is to manually try (usually not possible) you need to get into the menu with the original remote---Philips at my last count had over 25 different IR codes for their products==many of which are not available with universal remotes etc.

Push the tv menu button on the front of the tv set.Go to Audio setup used the channel buttons UP and DOWN to pick ur choice.Can't do this manually.Try website like Remotes.com to buy an tv original remote.

Take your remote, go to menu, scroll down until you see sound settings, when you see mono/stereo, use the right arrow and click it until cursor is over stereo, next press enter, that should restore your stereo sound.

Your SAP/MTS function is most likely turned on. This feature has 3 modes: Stereo, Mono and SAP. Stereo and Mono are easy to understand, it's the SAP that can get you. SAP stands for Second Audio Production. It is used to provide weather, information or an additional language translation of a program. Some broadcasters simply transmit the mono audio over the SAP audio channel when the are not using it for other purposes. Other broadcasters simply do not use it, which does not give you any audio. Look on your remote for a SAP or MTS button. If you do not see one, look in your TV user menu for this feature. If you are using a cable box, look in the audio menu of the cable box. You are looking for something set to SAP... just change it to STEREO. I hope this was helpful.

On the original TV remote press the "AUDIO" button until it gets to the option "MAIN" and this should get the stereo sound back.

I dont know if this will work for you, but its worth a try. I had the same problem.

1. I changed to a station that was having the problem (an analog station with MONO displayed on the screen).
2. I unplugged the TV for about 15-20 minutes. (I was thinking maybe something needed to refresh, so thats why i unplugged the tv.)
3. I plugged the tv back in and voila. The station showed up as MONO then immediately swtiched to STEREO.

After that, i was able to use the AUDIO feature on the remote to actually change from MONO to SAP, etc.

Ive had my Sharp for about 5 months now, and thats the first time its happend to me. Luckily, i solved the problem...this time.
