Yes, I'm having the exact same problem -- I can't eject the dvd that's in the player right now either manually or remotely. It plays fine.

Try turning off the unit.
BEFORE you power it On... Press the Disc Tray Open/Close button... then turn the power On with the Open/Close button depressed.
I've had this work on a number of different DVD players and even some professional grade videotape machines.

Good Luck.

SOURCE: panasonic dvd recorder model dmr-e55eb/ebl.

This is a problem with either the logic or the power supply. Without seeing the machine and taking measurements inside, I can't state for sure the exact problem. These are decent machines. I would suggest that you bring it to an authorized Panasonic service center for a repair estimate. Post the results here and we'll suggest the next steps.

GoVideo DVD/VCR combo has a disc in it, and it plays, but I cannot ejecti it. I tried turn off machine and restart it but it still doesn't eject. It keeps reading the disc and plays the program.

there is a belt which is driven by a motor to open or close the tray. u place the disc on the try and the try loads the dvd/cd into the mechanism. the belt is loose & needs replacement. you have to open the cover & find the belt on the mechanism & replace with slightly shorter length of belt.

Dvd player will not eject or play dvd. It just keeps spinning and says "reading." I've tried unplugging for 2 minutes, pushing close/open and stop at the same time(hold for at least 3 seconds)....

Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet and turn the player ON. Attempt to open the disc tray. Depending on the model number of your DVD player, simultaneously press the POWER + STOP + EJECT buttons. If the disc tray still does not open, simultaneously press the DISC1 + STOP + EJECT buttons.6 Jan 2013

I have a Samsung DVD recorder is not initializing to format

Had the same problim myself with a pioneer hard drive recorder, when i put some ingersol blank discs, and the machine kept spewing them out, eventually solved the problim when the guy lent me a few different makes of disc, ironically the best and most compatable were the cheapest ones in the shop, RITEK, which were bought at a muti chain computer shop, ask if he can sell you a few different makes, these are very cheap and are normally sold in baulk
Hope this helps

The electronic procedure:

DVDR 3350H KEEP READING AND WON'T EJECT DISC

Look under the faceplate where the disc tray ejects and see if there is a small hole. If so, use a straightened paper clip to eject the disc manually by pushing it into the hole about an inch. If that works, then reset the power on the unit and try a nonrecorded type disc to see if the unit works at all.

Other than that, you'll have to take the unit apart to get your disc out.

Hope that helps...

DVD RW stucked - stall the whole system.

Hi, I found this site today cos I had a similar problem. To cut a long story short I found a slot on the bottom of the machine, below the disc tray, that has a white lever in it. After removing the power source I moved the lever to the side and the tray opened manually so I could remove the disc. It seems It was a duff DVDR as other discs now work fine. Good luck !
