SubZero 550 not cooling, ice film

Subzero 550, freezer drawer on bottom: Ice film on back wall of refrigerator (up to about seven inches above vegetable bins). Cold at bottom of fridge, warm near top. (Back wall cold to touch at bottom, not cold to touch at top.) Fridge door gaskets not warm, nor is the frame, except at the bottom above the freezer. Compressor, freon, fan? Which one? all or none of the above? It's possible that the fridge was left open (lots of kids, warm day)--any way that could be the culprit? Thanks for your expertise!

I have an Electrolux French door IQ refrigerator, freezer on bottom. The refrigerator half is staying to warm once in a while it goes back to cold temperature but it doesn't last very long and then it goes back to 50-55 Wondering if it could be the computer board or just the fan issue and how I might be able to tell?

Subzero freezer not freezing

this subzero freezer compartment did not free, but stayed cool. The problem was that defrost limit switch went bad, so when it was going to defrost cycle heater never came on, so it builded up snow and ice on evaporator coils and air stopped circulate. I replaced that little thermostat, and melted down ice.

Subzero 550 bottom freezer

I am pretty sure you are having a defrost drain blockage problem. Most defrost every eight hours and over a period of time the drain line that comes down from freezer into a cup like object top middle and back of the fresh food section. If blocked by gunk or ice you will see trails of liquid leaking down
the rear wall of fresh food compartment until it reaches the crisper drawers. This is not always the same with every model as you may see frozen ice flowing down the rear wall of freezers on side by sides. Here is an example Click here=> Whirlpool Leak Photo taken by TechnicianBrian He has been around a good bit and deserves credit for his contributions. Here is nother way to make this look more simple in clip above. echnicianBrian.com And in this photo are several parts listed in photo group #1 were it is most likely running down the wall=> MagicChef CTB1921AR fresh food section. If you still have questions please ask and rate me if I was able to explain this well enough. Every refrigerator is made different so these are examples only. The key is to find if ice or just gunk has blocked you defrost drain. Unplug and then remove the rear panel in back of freezer. We need to see if the water is overflowing the condensate drain tray or if the blockage is in the turn the drain leads down back of your refrigerator. Much more on this page=>

Subzero 550 bottom feezer will not drain

This only sounds like a blockage in the condensate collection pan below each evaporator. Your model has a evaporator below each the freezer and the fresh food compartment. You will need to unplug the refrigerator ansd remove the panels covering these evaporators in order to see these condensate collection trays. Go to page 81 in the=> Sub-Zero_Built-in_500_Series_Refrigerator_Service_Manual.pdf You are going to have to remove these panels to understand what to look for when it comes to condensate collector pans with the drain in the middle bottom of each. Ask questions if you want I am here to help, Thanks Sea Breeze

I have a Model 550 SubZero Refrigerator. I have ice build up on the lowere left rear interior wall just above the criper drawers. Can you advise on cause and fix?

Check your door and door gasket. Make sure it has a tight seal. The ice is from air and moisture getting in on the left side.
I hope this helps. Please leave feedback.
Thank you.

ICE IS FORMONG ON THE BACK WALL OF A SIDE BY SIDE SUB ZERO REFIGERATOR.

This is typically a problem with the sealed system (refrigerant leak). Usually a circular patch of ice or water driplets half way down on the back wall. The solution involves replacing the evaporator coil. Subzero will give partial warranty up to 12 years.Full warranty for 5.A subzero authorized company is recomended.

Subzero Model 550, freezer not working properly

Blow out the condenser with an air compressor. Make sure the evaporator coil is not frosted up, if so, the drawer may naot have been closed properly, or you may have a defrost problem, (timer, terminator, etc). Possible freon leak in the high side drain loop. Compressor may not be pumping efficiently, could have a bad condenser fan motor.
