When I go to the Actual LEXMARK support site... Their driver is missing the OCR, (ability to scan & recognize text)
The driver instalation disk included with the printer is missing it as well.
HOW do I find downladable software for the OCR?
Sometimes companies only support only the basic drivers. The OCR software is on the CD (s) that came with the printer. Suggestion. Try to order the original CD from Lexmark., or search Ebay for programs that have OCR capability. You can use OCR programs from other vendors as long as they are stand-a-lone programs. Just make sure you have the original disc so as not to infringe on copyright privileges.
Note: you can buy OCR programs. Check Ebay and Amazon. They are usually better that the programs that come on the OEM disk.

Start lexmar scanner in the scanning page look on the part that said costom scan,check : alway use this satting when scanning"now try scanning...good luck

Thank you very much.... I actually own the original CD that came w/ the x2500 when I bought it. So I'm thinking it may have been a free trial?
