We just bought a house with a Kenmore side-by-side...we don't have the manual. The house was built in 1999 so I assume that is the year of the model. We have ice maker and water, too. The control panel is at the top of the refridg. side...it keeps beeping ever few seconds when the doors are closed. I can't seem to adjust the temperature on the freezer side or the refridgerator. It shows -5 degrees!!! If I change it up higher it justs beeps goes back to -5. The refridg. side stays at 33 degrees and I can't adjust it, either. Is there a quick fix? Can we turn it off for 10 minutes and let it thaw out a bit and then retart?
Evaporator is probably overiced as a result od door not being completly closed at some time recently, turn off and defrost overnight with the doors open, turn on the next day and it should work ok within 24hrs. Regards Advisor
