Battery light flashes when hitting bumps

This morning I started the car and the battery light was on steady all the way to work when I left work it was off then the first bump I hit it flashed not a steady flashing but like a wire is loose, every bump I hit it slightly flashed sometimes its on all the time and sometimes just a quick flash. I have a brand new battery and the car is holding charge so I don't think its the alternator. It is a 2004 Chevy aveo. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hello There

You need to tighten the connectors on the batter. It's a loose connection problem.

Many Thanks

Hi I have a ford fiest van 1.4 TDCI 2004 it turns over but won't start but will start off a bump start.i have tried changing the starter motor and put more diesel in it I have tried pumping the pump

starting off a bump start indicates a dead battery
have the battery load tested
If the battery is faulty and you hit the starter , there will not be sufficient power left to run the electronics and allow fuel operation
bump starting releases that unused power for the starter to those electronics to work

Might be a loose battery cable. Just a thought. did see other post where you stated that you've disconnected battery several times. Hope you find/found a solution.

Can anyone explain why my 1993 Cadillac Eldorado wont start after it sits overnight? Also, why does my interior lights jump on sometimes when I hit a bump then turn off when I hit the door panel. My car...

Cranks and starts are two different things.
If it cranks but won't start it could be loosing fuel pressure overnight.
If it won't crank in the morning, you could have a bad cell in the battery or something draining the battery overnight. Such as the interior lights coming on and off.
The light problem could be the door ajar sensor in the door latch.

My P11 1998 Nissan Primera Si 1600 twincam developed a fault one morning. It wouldn't start on the battery, but would bump start. Long story short: bumped the car to start it, and left it running to charge...

I would check the fuses first to make sure you didnt blow any out from all the battery change, jump starting, bump starting etc. Not sure if your battery was dead originally with the fault showing. You may have a bad alternator. Usually when the fault light comes on you can still drive on the battery for a distance, then the battery will drain/die.

It sounds like your alternator is bad. East way to confirm, take it to local auto parts store (IE: Autozone, Advance, etc) and have them do a FREE charging system test. Couple of thoughts; you have two new batteries and your poor alternator has to work twice as hard. After you put new batteries in, you've been running on straight battery power. Alternator normally runs all your electronics and recharges battery(s) but if Alt has gone "south" then you're on straight battery power.
