I received a small mp3 player and I have not the slightest idea where to begin to use it.....please help!!

well to start with, a knowing a Maker and a Model would be helpful to know
but "MOST" mp3 players you can just plug in and "drag & drop" files to their folders(if they need them).

Could use a little more information on the make and model before i can give 100% answer, but here's a common way to "use it"

1) plug into the computer (turn on if it needs to, most don')
2) go to start >> my computer >> the drive of the mp3 player
3) open w/e folder you need at the time, ex: "MUSIC", if theres no folders then just make one and put music in it.
4) disconnect and unplug your mp3 player.
5) if there was not a "music" folder then most likely you will get an "updating media" or something similar on the mp3 players screen. if there was the music folder already there then you may or may not get that screen.
6) after the media is updated(if needed) then you may browse your music.

again though, this is on whats common, it may or may not work on yours, but if you tell me a make and model i can tell you how to get started on yours specifically. But, test that method 1st, if it works great =)

HELP NW-E107

Just opened mine an hour ago. Version 3.0 Sonic Stage in the box. They really want you to use their Atrac compression. In Sonic Stage, Import your files (or let it create your libray), then it will convert as needed.

I am now listening to music. Meanwhile I have downloaded Sonic Stage 4.3 from Sony website, as well as the 4.3 security patch.

However, they have an MP3 driver that will allow you to load MP3 onto this device, without Sonic Stage (you'll need to install). Doesn't say if it will allow WMA too.

I'll be trying more tomorrow.

Saving music on hard drive

After the MP3 songs are transferred from the PC to the Music Center via DMM, do not disconnect the power cord. The Center is updating its internal database to mark the changes of music library. Wait for around 20 minutes to let the Center update the database completely. When the internal updating is complete, you will be allowed to turn the Center into ECO Standby mode.
