I have ck K28231 watch. I managed to change battery by my self, and now I cannot close the watch. Could you please give me an advice, how can I close my watch?

When you opened it up, you inadvertently broke the seals around the buttons that keep out moisture and dirt. Now, that you have closed the watch, the dirt is pressing against the seals instead of being the blocks against the dirt. Instead of tahing the whole watch apart again I suddest you get some WD 40 or CRC sprat and spray it on one button at a time and exercise it in and out until it is free. If that doesn't work...open the watch and clean each pin with the spray and a cue tip!

Your watch is a self winding type and does not contain a battery.

To wind it up, swing it from side to side gently for a few minutes (this operates the self winding mechanism).

Self winding watches thrive on use and will only run for 2-3 days if not worn.

There could be many reasons for this. Maybe the battery is damaged/old, maybe it has another type of technical problem. Thats why i would suggest to you the same thing that i would do; send it to a repair shop. It usually costs between 7-15 US dollars to get it fixed, and it can usually be done for a couple of hours. As i see you have received this watch as a gift. Have you received the whole box including warranty card and the purchase receipt? In case you have received those, you could try and retrieve the watch to an official CK dealer, and maybe they will give you a new one or repair it for free. CK watch warranties are for one year and your watch is still covered by it (assuming it was purchased less than 1 year ago). mcdevito75 here, One year old, most likely the factory Battery and at 1 year old the battery is old, who knows how long the battery was in the watch before you bought it 1 year ago?? The battery is the first suspect. Look for a small watch repair shop in your area for a new battery first.

It is possible. Open the watch case back, memorize all the writings on watch battery as well as how the battery is positioned (+ and -). Buy exactly the same battery, replace it and close the case back. To be sure case back is closed as tight as it was, draw fine line across the case and case back with non-permanent marker. This will help you align when closing the watch and you can clean it off later. Rate me, please.

buying battery is not a problem its resealing so your watch is water resistant.you need a watch repairer who has water resistant chamber that gives you a print out of the depth they simulated in the test,these are more acurate than the manual chambers some repairers use so always ask. the battery number on the g shock watches is on the battery so take the screws out of case back and be carefull there are a number of springs on movement that control alarms et its always a 3 volt battery 2025or2035 or 2016. but remember if you try your self you have AC the movement wich is like jump starting a car.get it done by a pro is my advice.if not blog again and i will go through the sequence for installing cell .

To tell if the self winding mechanism is working, hold the watch close to your ear (hold it vertical, as though it was on your wrist) and rock it gently. You should be able to hear a ratchet operating (a soft clicking noise).

I can't help thinking your suspicion about the mechanism having failed, sound very likely.

battery should always be original otherwise it will destroy your watch.dont try to put the battery yourself give it to an company autherised shop and allow them to put it

some watches have a special way to open..nut by push/pull out the back but by rotating it .in this case it hase some small cuts in the back cover .if this so,it just might need to rotate.
