Casio G-Shock GW300CA-1V Wrist Watch Questions & Answers
How can unmute my watch.
Um, well I had the same problem on my baby-g watch, but i fixed it so here:- dunno if this'll work, but hold the bottom left button for a long time. never let go till you here a beeping noise. like DO NOT let go. like this is a g-shock and not a baby-g, i dunno where the mute is indicated, but u might see it somewhere. so, just do that dunno if it works as, again, i have a baby-g. good luck! :)
Casio GW300 (2608) battery replacement
Hey all. The charge provided by the solar cells on the watch only really extend the life of the battery. The total run time of a battery depends on how the watch is used...
backlight requirements etc. The battery will be depleted and need to be replaced.
Here is a site that has good
instructions on how to change the battery in your G-Shock watch.
http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=20217If you want to ensure you still have a the same
water resistance rating, I do suggest that you take it to a watch guy to have it
replaced for you. They clean switch contacts also and you keep water resistance rating. Good Luck and vote this as a "FixYa". Cheers

Broken wrist band
The easiest is to bring it to Wal-Mart, or another store with a watch section in their store, if you buy a new wrist band, they;ll put it on for free. If you're feeling DIY, pull the watch band to the side, untill the metal bar inside is ejected form the slot in the watch, from there, insert the new band's bar into the slot, and voila!
Casio G-Shock GW-300 replacement bands
I have a Casio g-shock gw-330a and now find myself again replacing the band. So far, $60 on bands. They last me two or three years. To install the band, take the band and watch to a Jeweler. My local Sears does it for me. $5 for installation; $5 for purchase shipping; $20 for band. $30 every couple of years.
This cost disturbs me.
How do I replace the battery, in a Casio G-Shock G-2300 9V watch?
Your watch is a solar powered watch and normally you don't need battery change .Nevertheless,if (as it is an old Casio model),you are convinced that battery is the cause of your problems, then replace.
1) You have to be absolutely sure that you are able to carry out the procedure.
2) IMPORTANT!! Pse note that the specific battery IS NOT an ordinary battery as it is rechargeable.DO NOT TRY TO REPLACE WITH AN ORDINARY ONE.RISK OF EXPLOSION on your wrist.+total damage of the watch.New battery has to be exactly the same with the old one (ID.code).Can be ordered on E-Bay,I suppose.
3)TOOLS:Watchmakers screw drivers + philips small size screw driver (for backcover screws) + watchmaker tweezers + 2 finger rubber gloves.
Turn the watch upside down and carefully remove the four screws (try not to loose them).Remove the strap if needed.Gently remove the back cover.Pay attention as there must be 1 or 2 tiny springs embeded on the mechanism.Keep them in place and try not to loose them. You have to remove the plastic cover (pay extreme caution to the spring/s) in order to have access to the battery.Unlatch and remove (if needed) the battery holder ( if can be removed-remember the position to put it back correctly).Take out the battery and check for possible leaks.Check the battery compartment cleaness.DO NOT TOUCH WITH BARE FINGERTIPS THE CONTACTS OF THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT.DO NOT TOUCH THE NEW BATTERY ON BOTH SIDES WITH BARE FINGERTIPS.Use the finger gloves.Put the new battery in place (do not force) and secure back the battery lamina holder. There is a AC(All clear-reset) contact on the mechanism.Using the tweezers touch one end on this contact and the other to the metallic body of the mechanism.Lift the watch very carefully(as it is,upside down-without disturbing spring/s) and check if display is activated.By paying much caution put back the plastic cover correctly in position PAYING CAUTION TO THE SPRING/S. Clean up the back cover, gasket, and gasket furrow from dirt as good as possible.Check the gasket condition.Replace if needed.Apply a little amount of special gasket silicon compound all around the gasket, both sides.Put the gasket in place.Put back gently the back cover and screws in position.MAKE SURE TO POSITION THE BACK COVER CORRECTLY(in place and not upside down).Press it gently when in correct position before you screw.CHECK ALL AROUND FOR CORRECT CONTACT. DO NOT SCREW TOO TIGHT,DO NOT FORCE.Screw with fingertips until you meet resistance.
I hope this will help.
BRegards
Setting time on casio illuminator watch
Here is how you do it:
Looking at your watch face: the upper left button is A, upper right is B, lower left is C and lower right is D.
Get your watch into "Hand Setting mode" That is the mode witht he digital time and seconds above it.
From Day and Date window it would mean pushing button "C" six times to get to that mode.
Once in "Hand Setting Mode"
Hold down button "A" til time blinks, then press button "D" to advance the hands, to the desired time.
Press "A" to exit mode.
Press "C" to return to timekeeping mode.
