If the channels are working proper its probably the remote that is your issue. i'm guessing you have a universal of some type that was supplied by your cable provider.

so, when you push menu or guide do any lights on the remote light up? maybe tv or nothing at all i'd guess. in any case if cable doesnt light your in the wrong mode.

different remote brands can be different but its usually just one button at the top, maybe two. which explains why it was accidently pushed in the 1st place. EASY.

hope thats the problem

My comcast remote was working with my Motorola dct700/us box and now suddenly stopped working

Put in new batteries or check that the battery contact points inside the remote are free of rust or acid build-up from leaking batteries.

Motorola DCT700 won't power up.

its working correct... thats sounds normal

now you just need to wake it up. turn it on using the remote supplied by your cabe operator. if anything it may be your remote that isn't working. does a "cbl" light or anything light up on the remote when you press the cable box power button? if not try to find out how to put it in cable mode and try again.

wish i had more info

good luck

DCT700/US - Unable to turn on with remote. Yellow light flashes on then off to brief red light then nothing. Tried removing cables and plugging in to power outlet only, but same result.

it sounds like the box is working proper... just needs to wake up. the remote may be your problem.
God Bless Motorola For Giving Us Cable Boxes With No Buttons!

My DCT700/US model has been unplugged and will not turn on and the remote we were using is no longer connected how can i turn the device on to reconnect the remote and get it back to normal.

shouldnt have to "recconect" the remote. have you tried it with a different outlet (not conected to cable just to see if the little power light comes on. Also, how long unpluged. if over 2wks to a month might it may be downloaing new firmware that is "pushed" to the device durring normal operation. If neither works you may need to have it swapped out.

Remote Codes for Motorola Cable Box DCT700/US

I have run into this problem with my Sharp Aquos as well. This is not necessarily a code problem but an interference problem.

If you take your hand or a thick book and sort of make a hood over the area of the sensor on the cable box and place the remote right up close to the sensor this will help let you know if the remote and the box are working with the code. Also might try turning off the TV or unplug the TV to test and make sure the remote will turn on the box.

Next thing after you determine this is how to block the interference and be able to use your remote. What we did is placed the Wii on top of the box over the area of the sensor and this seems to have done pretty good.

Good Luck ....

Resetting the TV
If the buttons on the remote AND the buttons on the TV case do not work (channels do not change and you cannot open or navigate the menu), the TV has stopped responding. Reset the TV as follows:
NOTE:
Some TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can save time.

2. Unplug any connected devices (DVD, Set-top boxes, etc...)
3. Press and hold the TV power button for five seconds.
4. Plug the TV power cord back into the power outlet and turn on the TV.
5. Open the on-screen menu to confirm that the TV is responding again.
6. Turn off the TV and reconnect the devices.
7. Turn on the TV.
