its working correct... thats sounds normal now you just need to wake it up. turn it on using the remote supplied by your cabe operator. if anything it may be your remote that isn't working. does a "cbl" light or anything light up on the remote when you press the cable box power button? if not try to find out how to put it in cable mode and try again. wish i had more info good luck

If it is "new", then take it back to Shaw, and exchange it.

you lost your cable signal.... the guide is saved in the box, thats why you still see it that temp off air message is also generated by your box because its not recieving anything from your cable provider. make certain all cables from wall to cable box are tight then call your provider good luck

those are the only 2 lights on a dct700 the red one usually means you have a message under the menu (probably junk mail about upgrading to video, internet and phone) try to find out if your on the right channel. -if a cable goes from your box to the tv use the buttons on your tv to get to 3 or 4 -if the red, white and yellow goes to your tv look for a input or source button on your tv and press it repeatedly till you find the correct input to clear that message after you get a picture go to menu and try to find something about messages.

its "cold", which means its still downloading. give it 1/2 hour at some point the box will reset and you will see a blue bar with 3 yellow dots. when that goes away toyr box will have a guide and channel bars but they will say no data or to be announced or something of the sort. 10 more min and you will be all set. hope you didnt mess to much up fussing with it good luck ;}~

it sounds like the box is working proper... just needs to wake up. the remote may be your problem.
