Try unplugging the oven from the electrical power. May release the lock, which is held in place by a tiny micro switch. If not and while the electric is still off or the oven is unplugged, use a bright light flashlight to look through the slot where the lock is in the oven, not in the door.

You may be able to use a thin blade screwdriver to move the lock to the release position. Check the angle of the lever. A slightly bent lever handle also can cause this type of condition.

If all else fails, remove the access panel on the front of the oven to access the locking device and release it. May have to disconnect the wires to the lock which will allow door to function but not during any self cleaning modes.

Fault Showing F9 on display,

So F9 would explain why your door latch isn't unlocking since F9 means your door latch has failed to move. Ok so it sounds like your door latch may have failed.

My amana stove glass top is showing f9eo on board what do i do?

  1. You can power off your range by turning off the circuit breaker(s) or fuse(s) for 1 minute. Then power up your range by turning on the circuit breaker(s) or fuse(s) on.
  2. Monitor your range for at least 1 more minute to make sure the error code does not return.

F9 still appears after unplunging and replug

Hi Don, this is Z. Thank you for your post!

If you are receiving error code F9, it typically indicates that the maximum oven door unlock time has exceeded. If resetting the power did not clear the error code, it would be advisable to contact an experienced appliance repair tech to assist further since your range may possibly have a communication error with the EOC (Electronic Oven Control), lock motor assembly, door light switch or door latch assembly. Hope this helps!

Code f9 appears display shows "locked'

Google Amana error code F 9. Looks like a door lock situation which sometimes occur after self cleaning.
Get that info on meaning of F 9 so more people can help you. Or there might be someone with his error code book at the ready.
Good luck.

Got F9 on Amana range model ACS3350 while trying to clean oven. The door is locked and got constant beeping with F9 error code. Powered off oven for 10 minutes and powered on, still getting the door...

Shut off the circuit breaker to it for FIVE minutes, then back on. If the problem persists then do the following:

A latch locks the center top INSIDE of the door during cleaning.
Run a piece of semi-stiff, flat object, like a cardboard strip that is in L shape behind the top lip of the door from RIGHT TO LEFT. You may need to push it along with your finger jambed in there when it reaches the latch. With a little push the latch should open.

Try to run the oven, if F9 shows again, press cancel Oven to quiet it. The Lock state is still in place. Move the latch hook manually all the way to RIGHT. Then shut off the circuit breaker for FIVE minutes, then back on. The oven should work ok.

If this fails again try the five minute shut off with the latch in other starting positions.

If none of these work then the latch mechanism, or it's motor is really broken. Replace or ditch and never buy Amana again!

F9 code will not clear

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa.
F9 error indicates Door latch issue and to resolve this you'll have to check the door lock circuit. If that is fine then replace the clock assembly/Electronic range control (ERC). Please rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
