I have an old Pitney Bowes fax maches (1530) and it is now not working. When I try to fax it is say "Needs Battery". I don't even know where the battery is and I don't have a manual. Can you help?
Thanks
On top of the operating panel is a small removeable tab with a bump on top. (not the Blue ones) Pull it out of the machine This is the battery holder.
The battery is a CR 2032. Most electronic stores sell them.

your thermal print head is bad. This is a very old machine and I do not know where you can get parts. This machine is no longer supported by field repair
I have a 9920 manual, could be the same.Try the following but if you get different displays don't change anything.Press function, should read FUNCTION SELECT , ENTER FUNCTION # .Enter 8, scroll to AUTO REDUCTION.(use COM STAT or HELP keys to scroll)Change to NO.Press stop to return to normal mode.If this procedure is not exactly the same for your model, then just search through the function settings and find AUTO REDUCTION and set to no.
For the UF-595 here's how you turn the fax stamp on: Function + 7 + copy/set for enter scroll to option 4 + copy/set
Hit 04 + copy/set and enter number 2 to turn the fax stamp on. 1 turns it off. Scroll to or enter 28 and choose 2 to turn the fax stamp on for faxes stored in memory for later use.
You hit the "clear" button to wipe out the current number before you enter 2 or 1 for the new entry.
