You must have an authorised (legal copy) of windows xp.

Registering Windows XP enables Microsoft to notify you of essential program updates, security issues and available program patches.

Although registration is optional, you are required to first validate and activate your software to ensure that it is not a pirated copy.

Windows XP has a built-in function that will lock a non-activated genuine Microsoft product after it has run for 30 days

From the Start menu, click "All Programs," then "Activate Windows."

A blue window will appear with a picture depicting a set of keys in the top-left corner, and a message saying "Let's Activate Windows."

Click the topmost radio button marked "Yes, let's activate Windows now."

Click the white "Next" button on the lower-right corner of the window and follow the instructions to activate your copy of Windows XP.

The final blue window of the activation process will be marked "Register With Microsoft?" Click the white "Yes" button at the lower-right corner.

A new pop-up window marked "Collecting Registration Data" will appear.

Fill in the form by typing your personal details into the sections provided.

At the foot of the form you will find two blank white squares followed by messages asking whether you wish to receive special offers and promotional material from Microsoft.

Click on one or both of the white squares if you wish to participate; if not, leave them blank. Click the white "Next" button in the lower right corner of your screen.

A "Thank You" message will appear. Click the white "OK" button in the lower-right corner to complete the Windows XP registration process.

Hope this helps.

How to Register DLL files

On Microsoft Window's operating systems, a DLL stands for Dynamic Link Library. DLL's are relatively small files that include a library of functions- usually data that can be shared across multiple applications. DLL's are called upon by various applications and can be loaded and utilized by these applications concurrently.
Registering a DLL
There are two easy ways that a DLL can be registered in your Window's operating system's registry, the first is the simplest, known as self registering files, the second way is to manually register a DLL.

Self Registering Files

It should be noted that many DLL files are self registering, they include information required to store themselves in the operating system's registry. As the name states, self registering files require no human intervention. Self registering files will automatically store themselves on your machine and become accessible when needed. Besides DLL files, other types of files that are sometimes self registering include .EXE and .OCX.

Manually Register Files

The second method used to register DLL files on your computer is via manual registration. Manually registering a DLL file is quite simple and can be done in only a few steps.
1. The first step is turn on your computer, launching your Window's operating system.

2. Once your Window's operating system has loaded completely, click on Start and then click on Run.

4. Once the command is input into the Run field correctly, press Enter.

5. Once the DLL has been registered, you should receive a confirmation in the form of a pop up box. This message will list your newly registered DLL file and confirm that is was successfully registered into the registry.

How do i register my new acer laptop

I'm not sure if Acer does this but Dell has a registry form on theirs when you first boot up a new unit asking if you want to register it. I think though you should be able to do so through Acer's website directly.

Computer is very slow

Try defraging.
If your willing to spend money
get more RAM it worked for me, ask someone or look it up, about how much ram your computer can "handle" and buy the RAM stick according to your pc max capacity

No, in almost all cases upgrading your computer wil only make it run slower. If you want to improve the computers speed there a couple things you can do. 1) Run spyware/virus scans, 2) Add RAM to increase computer speed, 3) Defrag
Software Critics says,

Try these--Highly Effective Ways to Optimize PC Speed made simple
Solution: 1: Create restore point and take registry backup.
2: Delete all temp files.
3: Delete all unwanted software's and security software's from add/remove program.
4: Disable all unwanted services from startup and then remove from registry.
5: Reset internet explorer and then register all .dll files.
6: Scan with spyware removal malwarebyte, hijackthis and Trojan removal.
7: Check windows update if found and then download and install.
8: Defrag C: drive
9: Restart the computer, and then check it.
A big NO NO: It's not recommended to edit registry before upgrading a PC or even making a slow PC faster as some registry cleaners can scrape out old registry entries of which some may be necessary to keep some programs running! And avoid websites trying to sell you something unnecessary.

My XP has been registered Appr 3 years ago. Recently keep asking me to Register. I have the Produckt No for my XP,Given by SONY (on the back of my PC). Could you please imform me haw to re-register with...

Normally registration is asked only when the system is reinstalled or newly installed.

Ensure that the computer is not asking registration for a different product, for example a newly installed printer, new microsoft Office etc.

If you reinstalled windows, or did some operation on the system as registry clean etc. , and you think it is a genuine registration request, you can decide to register, or ask not to have the request prompted again.

If you think this can be a virus or a non genuine request from fake software contact Microsoft here: Microsoft Contact
