My HL 2140 squeeks loudly when I turn it on as well as when it is printing

As soon as I turnr on the printer I hear a loud squeak like rollers or gears are turning and are dry. It also makes this noise when it is printing.

With squeeks its a trial and error process. 1. Turn machine off/on and see if the noise is there on startup If the machine is there on startup try this 2. Remove paper tray, remove drum/toner, close up the front panel 3. Restart the machine off/on If thr noise is still there means its a mechanical part inside thr machine, if the noise hase gone then try this 4. Put the paper tray back into the machine turn off/on if the squeek comes back then its the tray that is the problem. If there is no squeek still then its going to be the drum and toner causeing the squeek

It most likely has parts that are worn out and need replaced. you will need to have it serviced.

SOURCE: clicking noise with MFC-8640D

Make sure that the paper guides in your paper tray are not holding the paper too tight against the front of the tray, there should be about 1/16 inch play so that the paper can be lifted to the roller easily. Also take out your toner and drum and turn it on, if the grinding noise is gone you may need a new toner, some refilled toners are too tight to turn properly.

SOURCE: HL 2140 does not print

Hi,

This is a common problem to your brother printer model 2140. You need to turn off your printer and take out the toner. Look for the side and you will see a small hole on both sides. This is the sensor. You need to cover it with electrical tape.

Here is a detailed video on how to do it:

Good luck and hope this helps you.

My Nordictrack E9.0 Elliptical machine has a loud squeek

I have found a possible source for your squeak. I have the same elliptical and had an annoying squeak in the front end of the machine. The squeak could be coming from the roller arm flex bracket and/or the pedal arm flex bracket. These brackets are secured to the front of the roller arms and the pedal arms with a single bolt. Tightening these bolts may help get rid of the squeak. If you don't have your manual, you can download the manual at the nordictrack website. The manual will have an exploded drawing of the elliptical. The roller arm bracket and the pedal arm bracket are numbered 135 and 136 and you will see which bolt I am talking about. I have had numerous issues with my elliptical but after changing some parts under warranty, it is working like new. Good luck.

Printer HL-3070CW - LOUD Grinding noise when it seems to be running large print offs. It is almost like it gets too hot

My 3070CW makes the same noise. It is caused by the transfer belt. One roller is driven by a cog and this goes fine. The other roller has a tensioner and this roller is making all the noise. While the noise is really loud and annoying - it is completely harmless. Hope this helps.

Brother HL5250DN makes loud squeaking noise while printing. Sounds like crickets chirping.

This is not a problem but it can be early signs of the drum and rollers wearing out. When it does die, I suggest buying another printer.

Printer sqeaks loudly when printing. Also there

Sqeaks are hard to fix over the computer but if the black spots are random change the toner cartridge. If they are 3 or 4 to the page change the drum.

Hl-2140 noises

For a possible fix to the Brother HL-2140 squeal/squeak/noise problem open the printer at the other side from the paper tray and toner cartridge door. You should see a little black roller rod along with some white wheels.

The noise may be coming from the contact between the wheels/rollers which pull paper toward the output tray on top after it has been printed.

Check and clean/wipe the wheels and black rod, especially in the center area. Hopefully the noise will now be reduced/eliminated.

Cheers, Stephen

My dryer squeeks really loudly. SOunds like

Two areas that might squeak in this dryer are the tension pulley next to the motor and the drum support rollers mounted to the interior rear.

The manual below will cover disassembly of your machine to get inside in page 5-1 and 5-2. Other areas of the manual may or may not apply to your machine. Turn off power and gas before opening dryer case. Draw a picture of the belt travel around the pulleys before removing it. Good Luck.

Dryer squeekes on and off

Hello.

Intermittent squeaking usually arises from drum rollers, a bearing at the back of the tub or the pulley for the belt. Locate where the squeak is coming from the loudest and you can narrow down the cause.

Loud in the back middle: Drum bearing kit

Loud in the back bottom: Drum rollers.

Loud in the top front: Drum glides

Lound in the bottom front: Belt pulley.
