Memory Error A few days ago I tried to download some recent photos, but started to get a Memory Error message! Is it possible to retrieve the photos somehow and how do I solve the Memory Error message ? Thanks

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS AND VIDEOS TO A COMPUTER
If your photos and videos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

1. Built-in Memory Error error message. If you see this error message with your Panasonic camera, the internal memory area of the camera is either full or corrupted. 2. Memory Card Locked / Memory Card error message. Both of these error messages are related to the memory card, rather than the Panasonic camera. To fix the memory card, you must format it, but formatting a memory card causes all photos stored on it to be lost. Try inserting the memory card in another device or in your computer and try downloading any photos stored on it before formatting it with your Panasonic camera.
   
5. Please Turn Camera Off And Then On Again error message. At least this error message says "please." This error message most likely occurs when one of the parts of the camera's hardware is malfunctioning, usually a jammed lens housing. To try to fix this problem, start by turning the camera off for a few seconds before turning it back on. If this doesn't fix the problem, try resetting the camera by removing the battery and memory card from the camera for at least 10 minutes. Replace both items and then try turning the camera on again. If the lens housing is jamming as the lens moves through its zoom range, try gently cleaning the housing, removing any debris or grime. 6. This Battery Cannot Be Used error message. With this error message, you've either inserted a battery that's incompatible with your Panasonic camera or you've inserted a battery that has dirty contacts. Gently clean the metal contacts with a dry cloth. In addition, make sure the battery housing is free of debris. You sometimes may see this error message if you're using a battery that's not manufactured by Panasonic. If the third-party battery is working OK to power the camera, you probably can ignore this error message.
   
7. This Picture Is Protected error message. You'll see this Panasonic camera error message when the photo you've selected has been protected from deletion. Try working through the camera's menus to figure out how to remove any protection labels for the photo files.

You should take the memory card out of your camera first and connect it to another comptuer(via a card reader or so), you are possibly to recover the lost photos with so-called photo recovery software but it's not 100% sure. Well, since you failed to mention the OS you are running, I'll recommend you have a try of Wondershare Photo Recovery, a program equipped with both Windows and Mac versions. For Windows OS, download here. If you are running Mac OS X, get the program from this link.

Step-to-Step Instruction:

1. Download and install the trial version on your computer, then connect your camera memory card to the computer (I assume you are using Windows). Start Wondershare Photo Recovery and select the drive letter that assigned to camera memory card.
2. Then choose the file type (all, photo, video, music) click "Star Scan".
3. Now the scanning process will start automatically to look for the deleted items. You will then get a list of all recoverable ones.
4. Preview the photos. If your deleted ones are found, then you need pay to get the activation code. And click "Recover".

Tips:
1. Take the free trial version before you buy.
2. Before your deleted items are recovered, do not take more photos or videos.
