goto device manager and search for the web cam driver. if not then update the web cam driver via internet. thn check your web cam.

For turning on the web cam you need to find program
> You-cam or
> Hp media-smart or
> Cyberlink cam installed on laptop.
Just clicked on the particular software and the web-cam will open.

In order to use your web cam and take pictures follow these steps :

- Check if your web cam is working or not ( when you turn on the web cam do you get the power light on or not)

- If the web cam is working fine if it is not then you can check the cables, unplug it and replug it if you are using an external cam on a desktop computer.

- Uninstall the web cam software from add and remove programs from control panel.

- reinstall the web cam software / utility.
you can do this using the disc which you have got when you bought the web cam.

If you don't have the disc you can go to the manufacturers web page and you can download the software and driver from there.
Must ensure that you select the correct serial number of your web cam when you do this.

Its either the web cam is broken or that the driver for it is corrupted and now the os has no way of controling or turning on the web cam.

Try this:

Reinstall the web cam driver.

If this does not work, check device manager and see if the webcam is listed.

If the camera's driver is reinstalled and the unit is listed then there is an os issue.

The Acer bar should be at the top of the screen when you start the computer. Look for the cam icon on it.

If the Acer bar is not showing on your desktop, Go to start , Programs.Look for "Acer web Cam": or something close to that

I would assume this is a built in web-cam. Normally a web-cam software comes installed on your computer and all you need to do start the software and the web-cam will start. Or you may use this link to get a free web-cam software. http://www.eyespyfx.com/my_webcam_broadcaster.htm
Note, if the web-cam is not a built in web-cam this will work a bit differently.

the most common reason for this is that the driver is not installed. click here to download the driver(the driver is generic so can be used for all models).

well mine is called crystal eye web cam just go to your search on the computer and type in web cam and it should pop up

is this a new laptop

* Plug in Web Cam into USB port and then start ur PC
* Install Web Cam Driver from CD if required , (Mostly Windows will detect ur web cam & install all required Drivers on its own).
