Since Installing Mountain Lion, this message keeps popping up. Does anyone know how to fix the issue?

There is a small blue square of three figures connected (like a paper cutout) The message box says, "There was a problem connecting to the server. URLs with the type "file:" are not supported. I am able to click "ok" but it keeps coming back. Thanks

I had this issue. It is related to the Mac accounts where replaced my iCloud.

Going in to your Settings, and remove your account.

SOURCE: No longer able to access saved Excel files after installing Mountain Lion on my Mac!

These ares more of a work around, but you can get a top notch open source free word processor at OpenOffice.org. Fully compatible with Microsoft.

Or, if you have a MS SkyDrive account. It will open MS Office docs that are uploads and stored there. This the new MS office will be intergrated. Clo

Os x mountain lion 10.8.4

you simply cannot "uninstall" mountain lion just like that... You need to accept this like 20 times before it will be preformed. So I'm guessing you mean something else than "uninstalling" mountain lion?

Perhaps you have just changed a setting so the "gray start-up screen" is no longer visible. You can change this in your settings screen, at "users".

How do I reduce Macbook Pro extensive battery loss after installing Mountain Lion?

How long does it take to lose 1/3 of its battery? What stuff are you doing? Internet browsing? Watching videos? ... And are you using a recent Macbook Pro, or is it an old model? Kinda hard to answer without any of this info.

Old Macbooks have crappy batteries that only last a couple of years. If you're not doing anything crazy and it still depletes quickly, you should consider buying a replacement battery.

Underwent an issue with my iPhone and lost all my data. How do I access the backup?

You would have had to add your iCloud account details when you configured your iPhone to enable the backup. To check that your data exists, go to the following URL and login:
iCloud

Here you should be able to see your data.

Assuming it has been backed up, go to your Apple computer "System Preferences" -> "iCloud" and select the data that you would like to keep in sync.

What are the common problems with Apple OSX Mountain Lion?

Hello Patrick,

The most common problems I've experienced with Mountain Lion are the following:
  • Reduced battery life. I've noticed about an hour to an hour and a half cut off from my battery life of my Macbook Pro. I'm not sure if this applies to you since you have a Macbook Air, but my recommendation is to try a reinstall if you experience battery problems and turn off some of the extra features like Twitter integration and iCloud when you're not using them.
  • Safari is crashing. Safari is a browser that used to have little respect but now has actually gotten pretty decent. However, with Mountain Lion it actually crashes a lot more than usual. I don't have a fix for it offhand, but I would recommend just using Chrome (which I use anyways) or Firefox. And stay away from Explorer!
  • Free upgrades to Mountain Lion. When I got my free upgrade to Mountain Lion (if you purchased a Mac after June 11, 2012 you can get one too) it took Apple about 5 days to upgrade me to Mountain Lion. This is a super low priority problem, but it's still something I hope they're working on.
  • Notes synchronization. I have answered this on FixYa already, you can find it on the site.

Best of luck.

How do I use iCloud on the new OS X Mountain Lion?

All you do is go into "System Preferences" and then click on "iCloud". From there you will be able to activate your account and proceed.

Please note that you will have to set up an @me.com email address from Apple. Without this you will not be able to sync between devices like you wish to do.
