Husqvarna Zero Turn Mower Z5426 Logo
Hawghauler Posted on Aug 17, 2012

Husky 0 turn 5426 was running and moving and just stopped for no reason. Belt is still on and blade would turn but no movement. The free moving pins in the rear were in place.

Any suggestion as to what may be the cause?

Toro riding mower stopped moving

If you have no forward, no reverse but the motor is still running normally the most likely reason for this is the main drive belt. This connects the motor to the transmission. If it stretches, breaks or drops off the drive pulleys you will lose all movement.

Why won't the wheels move forward or backward on my Toro 54" Zero Turn Lawnmower. Was mowing and it stopped moving.

usually if the pins are pulled out that is the freewheel position. push them in to drive. if the trans locks in drive and it is hard to push it should be ready to mow. unless the drive belt is stretched or broken or a linkage is out of adjustment or broken.

When running the mower, it shuts off immediately when trying to engage blades(pto)

Hi Digger:
I've two possibles come to mind for you to check.
1) Engine OFF - Make sure that all of the blades and pulleys can turn freely.
2) Engine OFF - Double check belt routing. Move engage lever ON/Off and look at what movement happens. It may be that the belt is on the wrong side af a mounting flange and binds when engaged.
Cheerfuls.

Why is it that my riding Lawnmower doesn't cut when I lower the deck to cut the grass lower

Tighten or replace drive belt. Before you do that though, with the deck raised right up and engine switched off reach underneath deck and grab hold of blades and try to move them up and down. Make sure there is no build up of debris between pulleys and guards. Remove the belt off pulleys if you can. Turn blades and check they are free to turn. What you are doing here is checking the blade spindle bearings for wear or damage. If they have excessive movement or feel rough and/or tight replace them. If they are good and the belt looks in good order, tighten belt That is done by adjusting the deck rods so the deck moves back. You tube have some videos of belt adjustment.

Hustler zero turn mower stopped all forward and backward movement. Engine runs and blades turn. When I try to move it just coasts as if in neutral.

The above answer from hroberthhelped me. My belt had come off of the pulleys. Got it back on and I'm back in business

When deck is lowered blades do not engage

Is the belt in place that drives the blades?
Is the belt at the correct tension?
With the mower engine off.....try to turn each pulley the belt drives and on the mower deck with the mower in up position and or down....do they turn a little......this is to check for a seized bearing on one of the pulleys also look under the deck for something stuck........ jamming a blade.
Also check for the mower belt safety system (which stops the blades quickly when disengaging them) that may be stuck in stop mode.
With the mower engine running.....have some one engage the blades while you look under at the belt system....is the engine driving the belt.....is the belt driving the blades.
DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING......MOVING OR STOPPED while the engine is trying to drive the blades.

I blade moving the other not

usually there is a small port in the bottom of the disposal on the bottom that you can get a allen wrench in. you can use that to turn the blade plate and free it up. take a shop vac and **** out the metal before you turn it back on. if that doesn't work alot of times you can get some dish soap and pour a ton down there and the soap will help flush the metal through the plates once they are freed up. but i would try and get them out first

Suddenly stopped driving...

Check for a worn belt first. Then check the linkage. Next jack the unit up and try to run it forward and reverse with the engine running. If there is any movement at all in either direction then check the fluid level to see if it is up to the top.The worst case is the hydro. unit has a stuck check valve or something broken inside.Hope some of this helps. donnyb60
