Just bought a used fridge. I hooked up the water and when I pushed the water dispenser. No water came out but a puddle came out from the bottom. I tried this a couple of times but my water dispenser is dry as a bone and everytime it floods at the bottom. Doesn't leak unless I push the water button. Doesn't seem to be making ice eithier? The lines are not leaking at all in the back. Please help! Thanks.

i believe there is a water filter in the fridge side as well as a storage tank. if the fridge is set too cold the tank or filter will freeze. causing blockage. Try setting fridge to 38 deg or higher for a couple of days. should melt blockage
SOURCE: Water tank inside fridge for water dispenser leaking
peah, I had a couple of these tanks leak. I think they had an issue with this. The last one I had they had a kit where the substitued coiled tubing with 2 john guest fittings to replace the tank. This solved the problem. The part number I have for the tank is 4838jj1003a, you can get it at http://www3.sears.com/ for 17.95. I don't know if they will send you the tank or kit. You can inquire. Catriver...post back.
SOURCE: using without water filter
The effort it would take to eliminate filter would be too much. Just leave filter in place. If new house filter is working right you should never have to replace fridge filter and your water will be double-filtered :)
SOURCE: LG refrigerator won't dispense water any more
The water line is freezing in the door due to deteriorated insulation. The only fix I have found to work on my fridge was to defrost the inside door with a blow dryer. Then place a weedeater replacement line (the orange 10" or so size you find at Lowes' or Home Depot) up through the dispenser nozzle, If the line only travels about 3-4 inches up the nozzle, then ice is still in the tube. Blow dry it until you are able to get water to dispense. After the tube is ice-free, place the weedeater line up throuth the dispenser nozzle leaving about 1/8" sticking out. The dispenser will still work with the line stuck in it. The dispenser will probably freeze again in about 8 hours, But all you need to do each time this happens is to pull the weedeater line out, dispense the water to unclog the ice, and place the weedeater line back in the nozzle. I have been using this method for about a week now and it works great. My GE Side-by-side is also 4 years old and this seems to be a problem with all of them. There is a part you can order to fix the problem, but I have heard it may not work.
