I push the water dispenser and no water comes out but comes out at the bottom?

Just bought a used fridge. I hooked up the water and when I pushed the water dispenser. No water came out but a puddle came out from the bottom. I tried this a couple of times but my water dispenser is dry as a bone and everytime it floods at the bottom. Doesn't leak unless I push the water button. Doesn't seem to be making ice eithier? The lines are not leaking at all in the back. Please help! Thanks.

The hose to the water dispenser up front cannot be connected and it is spilling the water onto the floor when the solenoid is activated.

SOURCE: Water tank inside fridge for water dispenser leaking

peah, I had a couple of these tanks leak. I think they had an issue with this. The last one I had they had a kit where the substitued coiled tubing with 2 john guest fittings to replace the tank. This solved the problem. The part number I have for the tank is 4838jj1003a, you can get it at http://www3.sears.com/ for 17.95. I don't know if they will send you the tank or kit. You can inquire. SOURCE: using without water filter

The effort it would take to eliminate filter would be too much. Just leave filter in place. If new house filter is working right you should never have to replace fridge filter and your water will be double-filtered :)

SOURCE: LG refrigerator won't dispense water any more

The water line is freezing in the door due to deteriorated insulation. The only fix I have found to work on my fridge was to defrost the inside door with a blow dryer. Then place a weedeater replacement line (the orange 10" or so size you find at Lowes' or Home Depot) up through the dispenser nozzle, If the line only travels about 3-4 inches up the nozzle, then ice is still in the tube. Blow dry it until you are able to get water to dispense. After the tube is ice-free, place the weedeater line up throuth the dispenser nozzle leaving about 1/8" sticking out. The dispenser will still work with the line stuck in it. The dispenser will probably freeze again in about 8 hours, But all you need to do each time this happens is to pull the weedeater line out, dispense the water to unclog the ice, and place the weedeater line back in the nozzle. I have been using this method for about a week now and it works great. My GE Side-by-side is also 4 years old and this seems to be a problem with all of them. There is a part you can order to fix the problem, but I have heard it may not work.

Mfx2570ae. Fridge has been unplugged for some time. Cannot get water to dispense.

Is it safe to say that the water was also shut off for some time? Did you check to make sure that it works? I usually turn it on with the tube in a bucket before hooking up to the refrigerator just to be safe! If it is a cheap saddle valve, they are known to break off in the pipe not allowing water to flow.

I need help with my whirlpool ref water filter replacement.

Need more info on what type of fridge it is. Side by side with the water filter at the bottom with the push button on the left. Push it really hard and the filter ejects from the housing. Or if it's in the ceiling or top of the fridge inside the fridge compartment. You lower the cover, then lower the filter (will still be hooked up) then grab the filter with with both hands. One in the back to twist and the other on the front to keep it stable and in place. If you twist from the back and don't hold the front. It will snap that plastic that the filter goes into. Which we don't want to happen. After yiu replace the water filter. Make sure you dispense at least 1/2 a gallon or a full gallon of water out or the water dispenser to get all the air out of the water line. Having air in that line can and will cause a bunch of other issues later on.

Hope I was a little helpful my answer.

Water dispenser beep-beep

I am wondering about the hose you shoved in and the leak stopped. Is the hose you pushed in buckled where it hooks on or is there a buckled spot where the water comes out of the fridge. Just a guess.

I changed the water filter and water still does not flow from the water dispenser. I have no light on the door of my model. It makes ice.

You need to check for water flow. Is the water flowing when you try to get water at the door? Can you hear it running? If not than it is probably your water valve on the back of the fridge where all the water lines come together at the bottom. If you do hear water running, where is it going? Pull the fridge out and watch the back while you or someone else tries to get water.. You probably have a broken water line. If it is the water valve it is very easy to replace. Unplug the fridge and turn off the water to fridge. The cardboard bottom guard on the back comes off with a 5/16 nut driver. The water valve is blue and has two sets of wires hooked to it. Should also have a 5/16 screw holding it in. Remove the screw. Take a picture of the wires or label them. Unplug the wires and then the tricky part. The water lines come out by pushing in on a little ring right around the tube at the valve. Push in on the ring and while pushing in, pull out the tube.Go get a new water valve and do the reverse to install. Just push the tubes all the way in, no need to push on the ring again. If it is a broken water line then you will need to get more tubing and replace the broken stuff. Do not forget to plug the fridge back in while you get a new water valve or tubing! The wires will be ok.

G.E. Side by side model quit dispensing water. The refrigerator door was not completely closed overnight. Is is possible the water line froze since the freezer had to run so much

It is possible the water line inside the freezer door froze . Remove the bottom kick plate and follow the white tubing about 6" to a coupling . Push in on the white ring and at the same time , pullout on the tubing . Push the water dispensor , and if water comes out of the hose going under the fridge , this means the line is frozen in the door . If no water comes out , it means the water tank at the bottom of the fridge section (behind crispers ) is probably frozen . A hair dryer should work on the tank , but , a different procedure will be needed to thaw the door . Come back if door is frozen for the procedure .

In door water and ice cube not working

Water dispenser is a simple touch switch in door energizing a solenoid water valve behind ventilation grate above refrigerator. Water tube runs down into and ends at ice dispenser chute. Should hear solenoid click at top of fridge when activate water touch switch. Can unhook discharge side of solenoid valve temporarily to prove water output. If water dispenser tube acts blocked it could be frozen where it ends-look up the hole at the bottom of refrigerator control buttons.
Ice maker is totally different system. No clicking when push ice button but ice in bulk tray may mean the simplest of malfunctions: Ice bin not pushed in the last half inch if ice auger not lined up with drive pegs. There are hidden switches behind ice bin that need to be engaged or nothing will happen in the ice maker: no auger noise, no clicking, no new ice making. Ice bin will be flush with sheet metal if it is in the right spot. Also plastic juice rack won't hang properly if ice bin not pushed in all the way.

Water dispenser...

I had the same problem, in reading a bunch of other similiar issues with various models, the best thing I found was that the water line inside the freezer door is frozen. I had to isolate this portion of my water line from the wall all the way through the frigde. It you unplug, take out screws from he back cardboard cover so you can follow the waterline through the fridge. The valves are pretty easy to take apart/put together. To take apart a valve, just press down on the ring around the valve the pull the connecting apart. To put back together, push the same ring down, then push the connection back together. To check the water flow, plug the fridge back in and have some one push the water dispenser as you check each valve. I suspect the problem is in the freezer door, so you should just check the valve under the bottom left side of the freezer door. From here to the dispenser the water line goes through the door. I used a blow dryer to heat up the inside of the freezer door just behind and below the dispenser unit for about 5 minutes. Try and run the water again and it should work. Good luck
