I have a 55 inch lg and it powers up co.es on but that's it nothing else happens
It will cost more then the cost of a new TV to replace that LCD panel. 55" panel would probably be in the $700-$800 range. Walmart has new 55" LCD's in the $700 range. The TV is not junk, it has some value. Throw it on Ebay or Craigslist as a parts unit. I assure you someone will buy it. I'd ask for at least $100
SOURCE: the rca tv will not power up 55 inch
Is it a rear projection set? or LCD? If it is a projection set it could be a bad High voltage splitter. Part is about $30 If it is LCD it could be a bad power supply or inverter board. A good tech can replace capacitors in power supply without replacing the board
