Hi,

your TV is having a power problem. The power supply board is defective that's why the TV won't power up. Its receiving power but it cannot transfer the current to the necessary part of the TV because a capacitor, diode, etc may have been faulty. Until these bad components are replaced, the TV might not come on.

This may have occurred as a result of power surge/irregular power supply or excess power that may have entered into the TV previously.

If you know about TV repairers, I would suggest that you open the TV and read the power board/panel with a meter, detect the bad component and replace it. Take note that TV stores a lot of current that can shock, so leave the TV for a while before you open it.

If you don't know about TV repairers, take the TV to the nearest repairman to fix the fault for you.

Do a HARD reset to this TV, and then check. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. Bad connector. change out the audio cables and this should take care of it. Even if they are new you will want to try this...they go bad all the time. If that is not it the you need to verify it is not the source. Do this by trying other sources and see if you can duplicate the problem. If you can do this with new cables then it is your speakers or connection on TV.

Hi Dave, Troubleshooting circuit boards to the component level has become a bit harder due to the availability of semiconductors. I would suggest to measure all the voltages from the power supply at P802 and P803. Let me know if you require further assistance or I can send you the service manual if need be.

Hi Erika, If your LCD is cracked, you will need to unfortunately replace the entire LCD. Simply putting a screen protector (which is just a thin film) will not stop the crack from getting worse. There is unfortunately no magical way to fix your screen other than simply replacing the LCD panel itself, which is totally doable. Many electronics repair shops can fix your TV pretty easily. In some cases, you can even mail it into Toshiba.

RF (radio frequency) interference is being picked up by the power line or wiring. Remove sources of RF interference, such as fluorescent lighting or wireless devices not designed to work with audio/video equipment.
