Wilowbrook electric recliner chair stuck in full lift position.how can i get it to go ack down.

An elderly lady in sheltered housing complex has a willowbrook electric recliner chair just over 3 years old with the massage effects ..it has jammed in the lift position and we cannot get it to go back down.the massage part is the only bit that seems to be working at the moment.the manufacturers are asking £100 before they even come out to take a look at it..we have tried all the usual and can only think it may be a motor that has gone.

Sorry the motor has failed or the wiring to it, you need a repair tech to come out.

SOURCE: electric front seat stuck

the first thing to do is remove the plastic skirt around rhe seat,to do this remove the seat movement knobs by prying them off with screwdriver, gental steady pressure works, then remove the screw in the rear( back seat compartment),three screws at seat switches and the side skirt will pull out (four tabs are connected to the mating plastic pieces, pull outtoward you). two screws hold the front skirt on these are tough to get to they are at an angle. with this skirt removed you can get to the motor,
three screws remove the the motor (Isuggest unplugging motor, small connector) on each end of shaft are retaining bushings rotate them toward the back and they will disengage, you can now pick up the motor and the the shafts will come out with it.these shafts disengage from the motor and should be kept seperate (greasey)
I used a R2 square drive bit (the driver used to install deck screws) to find which screwdrive is jammed, I adjusted the other one to its front stop with square driver bit the worked the jammed one back and forth mostly toward the rear and it worked free.
I adjusted this one to the front stop and reassembled the motor, shaft(make shure to snap retaining bushing in place)reconnect motor connector, all plastic skirts AND NEVER ALLOW THE SEAT TO TRAVEL TO ITS FRONT STOP AGAIN. (4HRS)

SOURCE: Six way power driver seat bottom does not adjust up or down.

it can only be 2 things, either the switch is bad or the motor in the transmission is bad, both parts are a common failure so u must test each to determine which is at fault, do u have a 12 volt test light? if not get one, about $6 from any parts store like Kragen, Autozone and others, raise the seat as high as possible and disconnect the motor that is inop, (be careful not to break the connector locks) push the switch to operate that motor in one direction (up for this test), the test light should light, then move the test light to the other terminal of the connector and press the switch for down, again the test light should light, if the lights go on as described then the motor is the problem and if they don't the switch is the problem.

Toyota Solara. How to fix the driver seat recline?

The seat isn't electric for recline? There are known issues with seats. If it is a manually operated seat, I would remove it and look underneath. It sounds like a broken spring or loose connection to a linkage.

The passenger side chair no longer reclines how can i fix it, i think the spring may have become detached. can i remove the chair and fix myself?

I believe you can, there should only be four bolts holding down the chair, when you git it off look underneath it and you will see the problem. If you have any electrical connections, don't worry the only plug in one way, and there are usually only one. Good luck man. (or woman)

Passenger seat stuck in lying down position.

Use some penetrating lubricant on all pivot points and levers around the recline mechanism, and let the lubricant sit overnight. In the morning, try to work the recline mechanism free. (The vehicle is quite old at this point, and likely parts in the interior need lubrication. These parts should be lubricated annually.)

Veracruz driver seat

Hi tlocker,

Sorry to tell you, but if we're talking about an electrically operated seat, there's no short cut....The seat will have to be removed and then you'll have to sort out why the motor reversal does not work....Could be a bad connection..... If it's a manual operation then you'll have to find out where its stuck....
