Move bobbin winder to LEFT. Your machine is set to wind a bobbin.
Hope this helps!

SOURCE: singer stylist sewing machine 534 is not stitching

Feed dog drive gear(2) are plastic and are probably stripped. Always replace them in pairs. While you are at it replace both hook drive gears as well. It will run as good as new.

SOURCE: The bobbin case on my Singer Inspiration 4210

From what I gather on other sites, your thread has to be threaded under tension.... You have to make sure you hear a click when your bringing your thread down to the bottom of the "arm". Also, I thought the bobbin case was rather loosely held in its place, I adjusted this by unscrewing the black plate and moving it over just a smidge. The bobbin is supposed to have some wiggle room, but it kept popping up and making the tiny adjustment seems to have done the trick....for now...

Likely old oil and lint forming "glue" in the mechanism....suggest a General Service if you are not willing to clean this yourself, or more than 2 years since last service

The beeps usually indicates that your machine is not ready to sew which probably means a function has been left in the activated mode, ie bobbin winder, buttonhole function, etc. . Here are some ideas:

Foot pedal not working

Well, you are definitely getting power from the electric plug in.

Let's do some diagnostic work. Do you hear anything when you press the foot pedal? Any hum? Did you happen to leave it in bobbin winding mode?

your machine doesn't have a "sew" button for use without the pedal. So please rotate the hand wheel toward you as you press the pedal. Did the motor take over and sew?

If you know someone with a meter... have them test the pedal. (they will place probes on/in the part that plugs in which tests for shorts, etc.) If that tests ok... then we know it's something more than the pedal and it will need servicing by a Singer Tech.

The hand wheel just stays put while the inside of the machine seems to be moving, like something is slipping.

Move the bobbin winder to LEFT. Sounds to me like you didn't re-set after winding a bobbin.
Hope this helps!

Sewing machine handwheel turns and whirrs but needle bar stuck?

my suggestion is that the machine needs to be serviced at a sewing machine shop, because for 1.it's not responding 2. it used & you don't know when the last time it was serviced 3.something is wrong with the machine.
hopefully there are no broken parts, but having the machine serviced will tell that.
as for a manual

Go to the singer website
Go to the home page
Go to customer service--click on it--it will show a small menu--click on instruction manual
In the box put the model number (example w510 ) & click search

The foot pedal on my Singer Inspiration is stuck on fast speed.

Hi lawoffice474...

Unplug your foot pad from the machine and the electrical receptical.
Try moving the foot pedal with your hands, back and forth as if you were pressing your foot on it.
Did it loosen up?
If yes then you still need some maintenance...
If no then you still need some maintenance.
Disassemble the foot pedal and take as many pictures as you need to be able to reassemble it.
Once you have disassembled then you will look to oil (one drop max) the pivot points of the foot pedal, like the hinge assembly, reostat linkage, etc.
Once you have it oiled then try moving the foot pedal again my hand before reassembly.
If everything moves ok then your good to go...
Reassemble the foot control.
If not then its time to replace it with another foot pedal such as one of these at this webpage below:
Please take time to rate me thumbs up.

Singer inspiration. When using zipper foot. Excess amount of thread on bottom of material, very loose and loopy. Wasting alot of thread for such a some task.

Your top threading is not right, check to make sure that your thread hasn't jumped out of a guide. Totally rethead with the presser foot up, now pull thread, it should move smoothly, next put the presser foot down, the thread should barely move. This will seat your thread in the tension discs. If, that does not work, insert a new needle.

I just received a singer 4205 (inspiration) and the presser foot does not move back and forth to pull the material through the machine. It seems to be stuck. I am not a seamstress, but 3 other people...

It is not your presser foot, you must mean the feed dogs, they are what moves the fabric along. Clean and Lubricate your machine. Remove the bobbin case and clean it out. Replace your needle now Totally rethread the machine, according to your manual. Test the threading by putting the presser foot up, pull on top thread, it should pull smoothly, now put your presser foot down, the thread should barely move. This will seat the thread in the tension discs. By the way, try your tension on 3. Also, make sure that your presser foot is down before sewing. Always move the handwheel towards you, never away from you because you will mess up the timing. You will see your feed dogs move if you watch. Download a free copy of you manual at www.singerco.com and save it, plus enlarge the diagrams. If, that does not do the trick call Singer at 1-800-4singer.

Needle moves up and & down and sews for a few seconds - then stops and willno loonger move up & down

If you look at the website, www.sewvacdoctor.com and you can see, they say it may be your foot pedal or transducer(speed control inside the machine) I would call Singer and see if it is still under warranty, hopefully it is. If it is the foot controller, that is not too expensive, I don't know about the transducer. But, call Singer at -800-4singer and tell them what is happening. Good luck

Singer 4210 does not work: it is plugged in, the light is on, but when pressing the pedal nothing happens.

Make sure that the foot pedal is correctly inserted and that you have selected a stitch pattern. Also, recheck your threading, totally rethread if needed, bobbin also
