If you press and hold resume, will the carriage move over to the left? Hold it until it stops moving.
If that doesn't work, try resetting the printer, by following these instructions. This article may also apply.
Unfortunately, HP does not have any instructions on the support site for resolving a carriage jam for your model, and I am hesitant to instruct you according to another printer, without experience working on that particular machine. If you are still unable to correct the situation after following steps listed above, please contact HP tech support directly, here.
If you want to research the options available online, you home support page is here.
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

How are you connecting to the printer (over the network or a direct USB connection)? If you are using a USB connection, try a new cable or plugging into a different USB port. If you use a USB hub, try a direct connection.
If you are using a network connection, check if your firewall is blocking the connection. Also check that the router (or switch) didn't dropped the network connection and didn't re-synch with the printer (or worse changed the IP address of the printer).
I hope this helps.

Hello.
Give this a try:
Go to Printers and Faxes and delete your printer icon.
In Windows 7:
1. Open Printers by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Hardware and Sound, and then clicking Printers.
2. Right-click the printer that you want to remove, and then click Delete.
Disconnect the USB cable.
Restart your computer.
Reconnect the USB to your computer.
Your computer should see your printer. Install the printer's Windows 7 driver, found here:

If still a problem, your USB printer cable is probably faulty. If not the USB cable, the USB port on the printer is probably faulty.
Hope this resolves your problem.
