NO help from HP, can you please help?
Just purchased above printer, during installation, fatal error MSI.dot4wrp stops the installation during step 3. The program then begins to delete the files it just installed.............I tried the installation from the CD, then from the website HP gave me.....................same results.

Sounds to me as though your operating system has a corrupted file.
do a disk clean
defrag
then chkdsk on restart..
printer driver corruption can be more than the printer software.
Can you please inform us also what operating system you're using on that computer so we can check if the printer is compatible with your computer, and also make sure that when you run the installation wizard you're log in as the administartor and also disable your security software like firewall and anti virus because sometimes they can cause this type of problem...

Do you get a ERROR CODE?
Try logging in as administrator or right click the setup file and select run as administrator.
if the same error comes up:
1st, make sure that ATL.DLL exists in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 directory,
If the file is missing you can download it here

and copy it to the folder (or follow setup instructions inside zip file)
2nd, in the start menu select run and enter: "regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\atl.dll"
try the setup again.

Fatal
After the code 1603, the fatal error message comes up
O/S is windows xp home.............
Trying to install HP Photosmart C7200 software from the CD and also tried from the website.
Equipment new........installation fails at step 3 of the process. My system is Wdws XP.
Failure message is: Fatal Error MSI.dot4wrp, error code 1603. Firewall, etc. turned off.
Please help.
