Canon Inkjet, Not Printing?

It worked fine yesterday, It had a sort of paper jam, so I took out the paper to clear it. I decided to print today & it will not take the paper. Works fine, but it won't take the paper. It just slightly pulls it, but then sends it back to the beginning. Then it says there is no paper available, but there is.

Hi Rosa,
There was a paper jam and you cleared the jam, however you missed out to do one other thing. Cleaning the Rollers.

If the Paper Feed Roller is dirty or paper powder is attached to it, paper may not be fed properly.
In this case, clean the Paper Feed Roller. Cleaning will wear out the Paper Feed Roller, so perform this only when necessary.

You need to prepare: three sheets of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper

1.Make sure that the power is turned on, and remove any paper from the Rear Tray.

2.Open the Paper Output Tray gently, and open the Output Tray Extension.

3.Clean the Paper Feed Roller without paper.

(1) Press the Canon Inkjet, Not Printing? - g0081065_tcm14-774017.jpg (Maintenance) button repeatedly until b appears.

(2) Press the Black or Color button.
The Paper Feed Roller will rotate as it is cleaned.

4.Clean the Paper Feed Roller with paper.
(1) Make sure that the Paper Feed Roller has stopped rotating, and load three sheets of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper in the Rear Tray.
(2) Make sure that b appears on the LED, then press the Black or Color button.
The machine starts cleaning. The cleaning will be completed after the paper is ejected.

This should fix the issue

I tried your solution, but it wound't take the paper either. On the LED, "3" "E" "0" kept appearing.

Error "3" "E" "0" Sounds like Its Either a Cartridge Issue or Hardware.. You can try the steps below.

    Disconnect the power cable
Hold on "Black", "Color", "Stop/Reset" and "Power" buttons.
Without release them, plug the power cable in.

    Ink cartridge reset (ship reset):
Solution 1 : When "empty cartridge" is displayed, Hold on the "cancel" button until "processing"appears.
Solution 2: Hold on the "Stop" button until "processing" appears

If None of this work, Try the steps below.

Press all buttons including power some time and then in one hand plug the power cable.
Your Printer should be ready to print again!

    Regards,
    Suhail

I got error 6A00. model mp830

Hello i hope u 'll be fine.... thanks for using fixya.

The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam. Some where in the paper path a sensor is activated indicating paper jam so the printer will give off a 6A00 code.As a Canon technology,I usually find the code almost 90% of the time it is related to the purge unit being jammed with something and not being able to move.Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods etc.
I have found all those things in a purge unit. The offending item needs to be removed or the purge unit needs replacement.A
Canon PIXMA MP830 All-In-One InkJet Printer would still be under Canon warranty, get it into a shop and save yourself the hassel.
Incidentally, the 6A00 error pertains to all Canon printers made in the last several years, its not just used in one model & its always a paper path error or purge unit
I forget myself so here goes, the purge unit, called a spittoon assembly in an HP,lexmark & other ink jet printers,is where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing. That is why you 'll find the print head assembly parked on top of it. It also has a an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow

I hope this solution will helpful 4 u. Best of luck

Keeps saying paper is jammed

Clear the paper jam or foreign object that is preventing the FINE Cartridge Holder from moving, cancel printing from your computer, then turn OFF the machine and turn it back ON again.

Paper feeds crooked into the printer

Check the adjustments for the paper your using. Open the printer and look on the rollers you'll probably find paper or an obstruction clear it and also clean then rubber moving parts with isopropyl alcohol to give them their grip back.

HAS BEEN WORKING GREAT. YESTERDAY IT DECIDED TO

unplug the usb from the back of the printer. shut down the computer.
Make a copy by placing something on the scanner glass on top and pressing copy.

if it copies that means the hardware is okay.

reconnect the usb and reboot the pc. it would start printing any spooled up print jobs that got jammed when the paper got jammed.

if that dont work look at the bottom right and see if there is a printer icon at the bottom right. if there is double click on it and cancel all pending jobs.
reboot
.
if the copying dont work that means the paperjam killed the printer and you need a new one.

Cheers

rate if you got a fix . if not you know what happened.

Canon pixma mp 160

HI this is happening to me right now too-- try this-- I'm not sure if it's going to work-- but it's worth a shot.

On your computer, go to a print menu to print a document.
click on properties
go to maintenance tab
try the quiet/sleep mode

also, try going to custom and slow down the printing allowing for a little extra dry time.

reason I suggest it: my printer is doing the same, it's almost like the auto sheet feeder (only on the right side--why paper is grabbing weird) is grabbing too quickly. When in sleep mode, it seems to slow it down a little. I've also been printing 1 page at a time. I'm not saying this is a permanent fix, but at $50 for a pack of ink-- hopefully if you can't fix it-- it can get you to use up the last of the ink you have incase you decide to get a new printer.

Paper jam

Do the rollers need cleaning or lubrication? Mine pulls on the left hand corner facing the printer

Printer won't eject paper correctly

I would try to clean the rollers with a damp rag. I would also recommend a good 'dusting' with some canned air. Pulling the paper out is never a good idea... you can always hit cancel to release the paper. If this printer is used in an office, I would put a little reminder on it for others. Hope this helps!
