Try adding your voice mail access number into the directory of the KX TG2770. You will need to enter the number separately for the base and the handset or copy it from the base to the handset. On the base, press Conf/Edit. Then navigate (up/down arrows) to Save Directory. Once in this submenu, you'll be able to add a name and phone number.

Then to call the access number, go to the directory list and locate the name/number and call it.

Panasonic has the manual for your phone here: http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/KXTG2770S.PDF . See page 33 and the following pages.

I hope this helps.

(Other phones have a voice mail waiting icon and let you program that number outside of the directory. These also check if you have voice mail waiting for the line that they are connected to. This phone doesn't seem to have that ability.)

Thank you for your quick and helpful response Cindy. I prefer to have all incoming messages available without having to call my voice mailbox, so I it looks like I am going to be buying a new phone system. Thanks again...Bob

You have unheard messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system records messages when people call while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.

My phone says I have voice mail but I don't

You're apparently subscribed to a voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system records messages when people call while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.

I am trying to figure out how to set up the voice mail. i see there is a button for 'message' but cannot figure it out. i have downloaded the manual, but there seems to be nothing in it. please...

The KX-7730 isn't an answering machine. It interfaces to the voicemail system provided by your telephone company or company phone network to tell you that you have messages waiting. To access those messages or to set your own greeting, you'll have to contact your phone company or network administrator for instructions.

We have a Panasonic KX T7436 phone in our office but the manual doesn't tell us how to change the voicemail message for when the phone isn't answered. Can you assist?

It doesn't tell you because the voice mail system is a separate part of the TD system. There are instructions provided with the Voice Mail system. In a Panasonic brand TVX you access it by dialing 165 and control it from either the serial port, a USB port, or mailboxes 998 and 999. 998 and a set of instructions give you access to message recording. If you don't have the instructions, you need to contract whoever set it up or find the MESSAGE MANAGER guide.

Rather than play GuessYa, comment back with the VM model number. It's either a smaller white or black/blue box mounted near the main phone system cabinet.

Panasonic kx-t7453 corded digital super hybrid system How do I turn my voicemail box on so a caller can leave a message at my extension? thank you

Pretty much, it depends on what happens when you dial 165. That's the voice mail access number for a Panasonic TD phone system with Pana VM. If you get the voice mail lady, set the box up and then from the intercom dial 7102/3/4/5 where 2 is all/3 is busy, 4 is no answer and 5 is busy/no answer and 165 or whatever the VM access number is and possibly # (I forget if it's required). That will light the FWD/DND light and send calls to the voice mail system.

New Voice Mail message

You received a message on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. To hear the message, dial the voicemail number provided by your service provider (in many cases, this will be your own phone number), and follow the voice instructions for listening to your messages. You need to store the voicemail access # by pressing [MENU], [#] [3],[3],[1] on the handset. To access the voicemail, press [TALK], then softkey [VM]. Depending on your service provider, you may need to clear your voice mailbox to remove the notification.

How do I transfer a call directly to voicemail?

If it's a Panasonic voice mail system you program a button for VoicemailTRansfer. Pick an unused button and label it VTR. Now, you need to know what the access number is for voice mail. It's usually 165 or 500. Then you press PROG the button and dial 94+ whatever number VM is and ENTER.

On the original installation, your installer should have at least given you 2 buttons, one for record and one for transfer. We usually give the customer a 3rd button called 2-way transfer. If your system is a TVA, there is a patch to record conversations as new messages, and if you have the optional LAN card(on the 50, it's already in the 200) for voice mail to email, it can send out the wav file at the end of the call.
