Intermittant noise I have had my fridge for one month and it's very noisy. Every half hour or so it makes a loud buzzing noise that lasts for about 1-3 minutes. It seems to be coming from the right side of the fridge and the ice maker is fine. thanks for your help

    I have same problem - except that it's a six year old refrigerator (Jenn-Air JCD2389G). A couple months after the noise started, the refrig slowly functioned less well. Cooling side curdled the milk first, then frost started in the freezer. Dealer replaced a heater & thermal assembly (2 visits w/ all day wait, diagnostic fee plus parts fee) and it worked for a month and then the noise started again and the failure cycle repeated. Dealer replaced heater & thermal assembly again, claimed that noise was ice maker. (It's not, I even asked a friend to listen to it - he said "that's not normal"). It worked for a month and then noise returned: failure cycle repeated third time. I don't trust the dealer anymore ... came to this site looking for new ideas.

    we had the installer come and check the valves and installation he also adjusted the leveling of the fridge and the problem while not completely eradicated is much much better, i think it has to do with the slope in my kitchen floor. Thanks!

Hi thanks for the question that buzzing noise is probably coming from the ice maker water valve that's about the time it cycles i would not worry about its fine just a little noise thanks the appliance doc but if it s too noisy replace the water valve

Normally as loud buzzing from the fridge on that frequency it just the icemaker cycling, the water inlet solenoid valve often makes a buzzing noise depending upon water pressure. Other than the noise, there is nothing to worry about.

GE profile fridge making loud humming noise
The door being open so long caused warm moist air to collect and freeze inside the unit.

Take everything out, unplug it and let it thaw out for an entire day. All the frost will thaw, and probably run water all over the place so put towels down.

When you plug it back it, it should work fine.

Whirlpool fridge incessant buzzing
The knocking noise when cuts off , is a compressor internal motor support spring , broken . This does not mean the compressor is bad , only noisy for the rest of the compressor life , but should be covered under the 5 yr warranty . The gurgling sound is the refrigerant being pumped thru the system . The buzzing could be from the compressor also . My suggestion , would be to call a factory warranty company , to see if they can replace the compressor under warranty .

Loud humming noise as fridge is running
if you have ice buildup then the fridge may be low on freon.
or there is dust clogging around the pump or fan is not running.
remove the bottom or back and look around the compressor.
see that the fan is running.
