Hi doug c197...

I will also include a fuel routing drawing.
Before you remove any fuel lines, make a drawing or take a picture of how the lines are connected to the tank for later reference.
You will need to remove all the old fuel lines and fuel filter out of the gas tank.
After you have all the fuel lines and filter removed.
You need a piece of wire...smaller diameter than the inside of the fuel line, insert the wire into the fuel line until it exits the fuel line then bend a hook on the end of the wire to hook over the fuel line.
You will lubricate about 1 inch of fuel line with a small amount of vasoline or light machine oil...
Now using your fingers or small needle nose pliers collapse the fuel line around the wire hook and insert it into the hole in the fuel tank.
After you have the fuel line in the tank, extend enough fuel line into the tank to exit the fill spout of the tank and remove the wire from the fuel line.
You will insert the new or cleaned fuel filter into the line and pull the fuel line to pull the filter just back into the tank.

I did not remove carb somebody else did what is the fuelline routing for stihl ts 420?

Primer bulb feed must be connected to fuel tank weighted filter in tank - other line goes back to top of fuel tank - check that the fuel line is not broken between primer bulb and fuel filter in tank - sometime line breaks off at top of fuel tank inside which drops filter to bottom of tank and thus disconnected from primer bulb - replace with new fuel line if broken.

Fuel line in tank has come loose, where does it connect inside tank

Some just connect externally to a barb fitting, but usually the fuel line and filter are all one piece. They are a bear to remove and replace because most of the new saws have a built in grommet in the fuel line itself to seal the plastic tank hole as it passes through it. Yours may have broken off inside the tank at the grommet. If so, its time for a new line/filter.

A special fuel filter must be on the end of the fuel lines going into the tank, the line should be long enough for the filter to move around by gravity to stay in the fuel as the tank empties.

Craftsman chainsaw fuel line and fuel filter

go to sears and purchase the fuel filter and fuel line kit for the chainsaw. in that kit will have a hook that you fish through the outside of the tank to the inside, you attach the new fuel line after attaching the fuel line to the fuel filter, to the hook, then pull it through the hole. disconnect the hook from the fuel line, cut the small piece off where the hook made the hole and attach to the carburetor. finish by pushing in the fuel filter inside the fuel tank. the kit will also have more detailed instructions and possibly with illustrations. if sears doesnt have the kit, check with a lawnmower repair shop.

My Homelite XH2XS-0254RA Trimmer gas lines have broken off inside the gas tank, can replacement parts be obtained

Hi carlfreeland...
Yes, your fuel lines can be replaced, be sure to get the right size to fit your machine.
Go to your parts supplier with the model/serial number and manufacturer of your weedeater.
Most of the time there will be two size fuel lines, the bigger one is the one the fuel filter inside your tank is connected to.

Blower/vac fuel lines

The longest, and sometimes smaller in diameter of the two fuel lines, goes from the carburetor to the bottom of the tank. Leave enough slack in this line so that the filter that attaches to the end will rest comfortably at the bottom of the tank.

The other fuel line goes from the primer bulb to just inside the tank, (about an inch). make sure that you get the right size fuel lines. The plastic coupling goes on the end of this line, inside the tank. This keeps the line from pulling out of the tank.

(HINT): When feeding the lines through the tank holes, cut the lines at an angle. They will feed much easier into the holes. You can than cut them off square, once you know that you have enough to work with.

If you need further assistance, just let me know.

Occasionaly the engine shuts off and won't start on JD gx345.

If the fuel pump is working correctly then the problem is between the tank and the pump. run a fuel line from the pump to a gas can. If the pump is working it will siphon the fuel into your filter. If the pump is fine then there is blockage, broken fuel line (sucking air), or something blocking the pick up inside the tank.
