Go to http://home.rca.com/EN-US/Rcahome.html
Next click on RCA acessories
Left hand side click on universal remotes
Click on picture that matches your remote 3 device universal
below remote picture click on tab support and manuals
Then click owners manual a new window will popup with the manual arrow down and it gives the programing information for free. Under the addtional info tab you will find the code list. I hope this helps I was able to get mine reset and up and working!

HI, if you are trying to program the RCU403. Go to following link to download the full manual:
RCA Universal Codes Manual
If you have some other RCA remote then you will need to find the manual for it. you can go to above link and click on RCA and browse through all the pictures of remotes, until you find the one that looks like yours. click on it and view details. They should have operating manual with codes for most RCA Universals.

Here are some codes for your Emerson TV.

Here are some instructions as well for your RCA Remote:
Programming a device using the Code Lists:

  1. Find codes for each device and brand below.
  2. Press and "HOLD" CODE SEARCH.
  3. Press and release the TV, VCR or Cable button you want to set up. If programming AUX for a device, press and release AUX first and then the device to be programmed (TV, VCR or Cable). When the selected device button flashes proceed to the next step.
  4. Enter the three digit code from the TV, VCR or Cable Box code lists.

  5. Release CODE SEARCH.
  6. With the device on, press another button, for example CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. If the device does not respond, repeat steps 1-5 using another code number from the lists.

Cannot get the cable to show on this tv
If the TV is connected to a cable box using 1 solid cable (RF ANT) your needs to be on either channel 3 or 4.
If the TV is connected to a cable box using 2 or 3 RCA cables, your TV needs to be on AV 1, 2 or 3.
If the TV is connected directly to the cable, go to MENU set the TV to cable and program channels.

Get your Sanyo TV codes and one by one program the into you RCA universal until you can turn the TV on and off. Find codes at Sanyo.com, the manual, Sat Manual, Vcr Manual etc.
