Fault 8 how do i fix fault 8 and what is it

  • NateTz Sep 27, 2008

I also had this problem. My suspicion was also a dirty machine, mainly because we make many decaf cups with ground decaf using the upper bypass powder feature. Fortunately for us, when the machine was off, it would restart without the fault 8 and only develop it after 1-2 cups.

Since I was too lazy to disassemble it, I simply manually cleaned all I could see after removing the tray, and I made several cups of powder coffee using no coffee but only hot water in the top. After 4-5 cups of no coffee, I saw the water was clear and we started to use it again. I will update as needed.

Decoding Fisher & Paykel Electronic Washing Machine Fault Codes

The Fisher & Paykel Smart Drive and EcoSmart electronic washing machines are equipped with fault detecting software to help easily determine the cause whenever a problem occurs. Not like other electronic washing machines, these ones do not have displays to flash the code, but rather use the eight (8) light-emitting diodes (LED) of the Wash Progress indicators to indicate the fault code. The eight (8) LEDs stand as an 8-bit binary number (zeroes and ones) that must be decoded and then converted to the decimal number system to get the fault code.

The fault code can be decoded by determining which Wash Progress LEDs are lit. Once determined which of the LEDs are lit, write down the 8-bit binary code; 1 for lit LEDs and 0 for the off ones. For example; the final wash, rinse, and spin LEDs are lit; the binary code is 00001101. This in turn can be converted to the decimal number system by multiplying each digit with its corresponding place value then adding up the result. From left to right, the place values are 128, 64, 32, 16, 8, 4, 2, and 1 respectively. Therefore, the decimal equivalent of 00001101 is 128(0) + 64(0) + 32(0) + 16(0) + 8(1) + 4(1) + 2(0) + 1(1) = 8 + 4 + 1 = 13; the fault code is 13 which is a pump fault.

Once the code is determined, search the web for the meaning and indicate it when requesting for an online assistance to facilitate a quick and precise response.

When it flashes 8 times it is indicating a possible Audio Protector circuit fault. this circuit is located on the "AU" board. You will probably have to purchase a new AU Board if you were to attempt to fix it yourself!

Top of form fault

Top of form fault - I assume you hit "Feed" button and still got the form fault... if so:
1. check paper sensor position, sometimes just 1/8" one way or the other will make a difference.
2. calibrate the printer to the stock you have loaded - calibration is EASY, just press and hold the feed button until the printer cycles 8-10 times. Let go, should say "Calibration Complete". Hit "Feed" again to see if your top of form fault is fixed.
