I have a Dewalt dnc692 dual speed nailer. How do you change the speed

Above the battery compartment you should see a switch that gives you the choice of firing nails from 50mm to 70mm or from 71mm to 90mm. That is the speed switch. For firing nails 50 - 70mm the motor speed is reduced so that there is not too much force driving these shorter nails deep in the wood and allowing the driver blade to get stuck in the wood with the possibility of bending it or snapping it. If you tried to fire a 90mm nail on this setting you will find it does not drive fully in and you may get the indication of a jam.

My dewalt 2 gal air compressor model D55141, when on hisses inside the pump housing. Sounds like a leek. Some pressure builds.

More than likely is leek. Must get to it to look at connections and air line to find out If slow probably would hear it. But loud you will find it. Tighten connections if it's there, other wise replace line

You'll have to replace the entire motor to do that. It isn't a simple wire change.

I have a 2005 model DeWalt nailer that has never been used. It leaks air constantly and will not work. Troubleshooting guide says it's a leaking O-ring seal. How repair if kit no longer available?

If you are going to repair (or try to repair) it yourself, start disassembling it to find that "O-ring". When you find it and confirm that it's exact place where it leaks, just search for the proper size rubber ring. They are available in all sizes (yes, your miles may vary, and it may take a few days for delivery if you order online). However usually you can find separate elements on your own. Good luck, Mike Cisco Compatible Headset Adapters for 7940 7960 etc

Why does dewalt 55155 keeps tripping motor reset. Plenty of current on a 20 amp circuit

Place amp meter into circuit to determine amp draw at time of reset trip. If higher than 15 amps suspect leaking check valve or failing capacitor. If it trips at lower than 15 amps suspect weak reset breaker. Good luck

I have a Dewalt model D55166. It will not shut off when it reaches the maximum allowed air pressure. What could cause this?

If safety pressure release valve pops open then electric pressure switch is bad, however if compressure keeps running and never pops safety valve then most likely tubing / joint leaks or cylinder / ring worn out. Spray soapy water on all joints and drain valve , if no leaks suspect cylinder. Good luck

My Porter Cable fn250c finish nailer does nothing when I press the trigger.

Could be lack of lubricant or safety foot not pushing trigger valve pin all the way in. Easy to check. Remove nails and remove trigger to expose the trigger valve firing pin. Connect air and with very quick action depress the firing pin all the way in with finger. If gun fires adjust safety so it pushes on trigger pin completely. If no fire, remove head and head valve and apply plenty of white grease or silicone paste to orings and reassemble for retest. Good luck

My Dewalt D51825 leaks air from the piston rod. Bumper seems to be okay Can any one help?

Air leaking from nose of gun indicates air getting past bulkhead orings. Bulkhead is white plastic frame inside of gun. Replace gold colored vinyl orings with like size buna orings. Remove cylinder from bulkhead to find two bad orings. Also replace trigger valve or vinyl orings within valve including the two orings on the firing pin. Good luck.
