Belt keeps breaking

What I would do is:Get a metal plate that is 1/4 or 3/8 thick that covers and slightly overlaps the back of the frame the compressor sits on. Drill two holes in it that are in line with the holes that are on the back of the motor where it mounts to the compressor frame. Then get two bolts that are the same size as the ones that hold the compressor to the mounting base. Make sure these bolts are long enough that you can bend them so they fit through the slots that the back bolts use for holding down the compressor. Feed them through and put a nut on the base of each one on either side of the compressor, then route them back towards the end of the base frame and through the plate that you made with the holes in it. Put nuts and washers on them. Now you can use these to pull the compressor back by tightening them. You might have to use "all thread" if you can not get a pair of bolts long enough. When you are tightening them, measure the distance between the edge of the compressor and the edge of the mounting frame so each side is the same. Then tighten the two original bolts on the side of the compressor to keep it snug and you should be good. http://www.ereplacementparts.com/dewalt-d55271-type-compressor-parts-c-1009_3079_3959.html

Dewalt Aircompressor model 55168 type 2 is leaking on small hole under the adjustment knob how do you fix it from constantly leaking?

Assuming your talking about the regulater it is repairable. first remove from comp. disassemble bottom needle valve and seat by simply unscrewing round cap on bottom of reg. check to see if the valve is hanging up . normally due to air comp. oil blow by. clean lubracate and check for o ring or seat damage. remove 4 screws from top of reg. first loosen adjustment knob to release spring tention once you remove make sure diapham isnt torn or damaged clean lub. reassemble bottom valve push the needle down to make sure it releases and works properly. reassemble top diaphram spring adjustment and cap test if the through cleaning doesn't work and in my experiance it does 85 % of the time you can buy a rebuild kit for it. hope this helps it is a simple repair

I have a D55155 compressor. When completely empty of air the guages do not read zero, should they or does it take awhile for them to go down. Also where is the pressure switch on the D55155?

GUAGES: Guages read exactly what pressure is on them at the time, there is no bleed down time. If the reading is off at zero it will be off accross the dial. The case may have been hit to knock the guage out of allignment or the needle is bent but that's hard to do unless the plastic cover is broke off.PRESSURE SWITCH: The pressure switch is the black box under the large pannel right behind the quick connects.LEAKS: Leaks cause compressors to cycle on and off frequently. They are easily found with soapy water in a spray bottle. The guages and quick connects should be replaceable with off the shelf (Home Depot, Lowes, tool repair shops) similar parts.REGULATOR: If adjusting the regulator does not affect the pressure at the quick connects, and on the guage, it may be stuck or broken. This could also be the place to look for a leak. Dewalt does make a regulator repair kit, part number 5130027-00.

My d51238 brad nailer is not retracting nails after the first time

Driver not retracting is caused by bent shaft, oring too tight/loose, check seal missing, or lower bumper cracked/missing pieces. With air hose removed, push driver all the way up with thin metal. Should be rather easy to move. If hard to push, remove head and pull driver to check for items mentioned above. If easy to push up, test gun. If driver stays all the way down, pull cylinder and make sure check seal is in place. If driver goes partially up, oring too tight/loose, lube piston seal with white grease or silicone paste and retest (if bent, adjust or replace). Good luck

Draining moisture from compressor tank

There should be a drain at the bottom of the tank. Often of the right side when facing the tank. If it gets plugged then it has to be removed to get cleaned and/or unplug the hole in the tank that it screws into.

Dewalt d55146 wont start

Not that I am aware of. The cord should go into a control box where the on off switch is. The motor wires come from that to the motor. I would check the switch box and more importantly the cover. The cover contains the plastic knob that turns the switch on and off. If the knob gets messed up it may not work correctly. The cover is available by itself. Here is a diagram with the part numbers.DeWalt D55146 diagram

My dewalt framing gun d51844, the piston was not

What air pressure are you using? You should be using between 90-110psi. Too low and it will not allow the driver to return.
