How to reset the compressor

The presure regulator needs to be turned in clockwise to get air pressure out of hose connector. The nominal pressure out will register on the gauge. that is below it- these are right by the carry handleIf compressor shut down from heat, let it cool and then look it over to make sure air filter is clear, and nothing is binding. Also make sure if has to be run on an extension cord, that the cord is 12 gauge or 10 gauge wire on as short of a run as possible.

I have a Dewalt D55141 Air Compressor that will

I believe that you have a very simple problem related to the in-tank check valve. Follow the discharge hose from the compressor to the tank. It should connect to a brass or chrome valve. This valve has a one way check valve that allows air into tank and not return to compressor (if air leaks back, compressor will be under load (motor will not overcome) and air will leak from the pressure switch unloader valve). With air in the tank, remove the hose at the check valve and spray soapy water to verify leak, replace part or clean as needed. Good luck

HELLO I'M TRYING TO FIND OUT WHAT TYPE MY

Dewalt nailers have changed very little over the years so the type may not be needed depending on what part you need. Please state the problem that you are having with your gun or part that you need and I will try to help. I have repaired many Dewalt nailers of different type numbers and they mostly use the same parts.

I have a divilbiss pro 4000 model RA65K80V1D

I have a Rolair two stage air compressor of similar design (5~7 hp range) has metal headvalve plate, aluminum head and cast body. The head bolts are torqued to 243 fp. May use as ballpark guide. Your compressor may have been made by Fini. Good luck.

Want pumpup to maximum air

Hi
Without asking what amps the motor is drawing, althought I don't think thats the problem,
But feel that its between the on/off pressure switch or the inlet/ outlet head valves, which supply pressured air to the receiver.
Of course the other point could be the ability for these valves top open and close in the approprate cycle inlet normal atmospheric pressure to delivering compressed air to the receiver, is it getting a good air supply through the air filter system, is it delivering through the pipework to the receiver compressed air.
If this is a new compressor I would like to suggest that this be taken back to the supplier, for them to sort out the problem.
If not get a good service company who can help you

Cheers
John

The staples do not go

I believe on that model you have to release the magazine latch, pull the lower half all the way back, load the staples into the upper half of the magazine, then close and latch the lower half. The staple pusher and spring are located in the lower half so the staples need to be in front of that for them to be properly pushed into the nose. Also make sure you are running the correct staple. There are 1/4" and 3/16" narrow crown staples out there and they don't interchange. The staples should slide freely in the magazine when they are loaded.

I start the compressor and

Hi Alisa,

This is normal for an air compressor. As you're using it, it uses up the air inside and must run to build your pressure back up.
When you finish using it, you should always, turn down the pressure knobs and turn it off. Saves on equipment.
You should also drain the tank periodically to let out water that has accumulated inside the tank so the tank won't rust. To do this, loosen the drain under the tank and let the water drain out. Don't forget to tighten it back up or you'll be back asking why you don't have pressure. :>)

I hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate your vote. Thanks,

D55170 type 2 air compressor I

Hi,
The only way to find the problem will be to get an OHM meter and start checking to see where the short is...
You have a wire, capacitor, or the motor is shorted out...
You should be getting some resistance through the motor, but it should not go to zero...
Unhook things one at a time till you find the problem...

How to change Emglo air compressor from 220v to

Hi Pete,
On the side of the motor on the label should be a wiring diagram. The diagram will tell you how to wire fro high 220v and low 110v ...
If the nameplate is single voltage only then the motor cannot be rewired for the lower voltage...
Also check the motor RPM nameplate as compared to the others...you may have a 1725 motor and the newer ones a 3450 motor...that would give them double the RPM's if the gearing or pulley sizes are the same...so.. if you have the right voltage and the RPM's of the motor are the lower, then you possibly could change the pulley sizes to speed up the compressor...

Lots to check and think about...

When does it shut off,

It should shut off at 120 lbs, unless something is running or leaking, it will never shut off. Most nail guns run at full steam. Paint sprayer's get regulated down to 35 or so.

I have a dewalt D55168 air compresser. motor stays

Here is a parts diagram for the air compressor:

http://shoppingcart.msservicecompany.com/msservice_net/product_files/D55168/D55168_PL.pdf

There are a couple of things to look for on the air compressor.

You will need to see if the piston ring is damaged or if you have a broken reed on the valve plate.

These are typically the two most common problems with this model.
