2 things that might help...use a paperclip and press the reset button (small hole on side, you'll feel a click) hold it for 5 seconds. THEN hold down the power on button for over 10 secs (keep holding while it shows version number) and it will perform a factory reset. You will possibly lose any settings and addresses, but better that than a locked GPS unit.

You will always get the PC mode. Its programed to do that when you plug in the AC power.

Buy a new one and copy the files off then return it
