JBL On Stage II with Remote Remote Control for iPod and MP3 Players, Black (086792279251) Questions & Answers
Will not charge a ipod touch 2
If you're willing to spend $40, there's an adapter available from Scosche Accessories. It comes in both black and white and they say it will convert any docking device to the new charging format. (The problem is that Apple has discontinued charging via the FireWire pin - which virtually all accessories - even including Bose - have used up to now. All the 2nd Generation stuff now uses direct USB charging, not FireWire.
Check out the convertor at:

Volume wont adjust up or down but it will mute on
Volume can be operated via Remote.
The on stage II has front chrome-colored volume controls that aren't buttons per se, since they don't depress or move in any way. They're touch sensitive controls, one for volume up and one for down. Touching both simultaneously mutes the unit. Touch them both again to un-mute. Or you can use the remote to control volume, play, pause and skip tracks forward and back. The remote uses RF rather than IR which means you won't need line of sight and the remote can work through walls. The remote has a hold switch on the side and a clip so you an attach it to your belt, shirt or anywhere else you wish.

I want my ipod to charged without my computer
What you need is the wallwart that (Sometimes) comes with the iPod. that way you can charge it without connecting to the computer, Check the iPod shop for one or there are some generic ones available on google shopping.

Problem with your JBL BoomBox2 speaker (or similiar) ?
Just found this out, after crazy searching & brainstorming.
So if your speaker suddenly goes silent or sound comes and goes, you can check this out:
At least the JBL BoomBox seems to have this integrated in its architecture so there's nothing we can do about it, complain to JBL : )
But to the problem: if the SOURCE of music/sound is too low, then the speaker may go into a "sleep mode" - silent. So ensure always your SOURCE of sound, connected to the speaker, has volume at least 80% to avoid this problem.
Hope this helps & no one needs to ditch and buy a new one ! : )
