I bought a game inported

Hello there,
Video games, just like DVD, have regional restrictions placed on them. If you buy a game from Europe, you will only be able to play them on consoles designed to work in Europe. This is the same for Japan, America, Australia, etc. Unfortunately, there is no legal way for you to be able to play a Japanese bought game on an American system or vica versa.
Here is some more information on "Regional Lockout." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regional_lockout
I hope this helps. Thumbs up if you think so!

Is their a way to open a PS3 counsole, my kid

Hello,

To open your ps3, you need to first shut it down and disconnect all the cables connected to it, wait for about an hour for the high voltage in it to dissipate. The you get a screwdriver that matches the screws on it.

Pull the warranty sticker off of the bottom of the PS3. This will void your warranty, so make sure that the problem you are addressing is not covered by your warranty. Note that taking your PS3 to be repaired by someone other than Sony will still void your warranty. You are not losing anything by taking apart your PS3 yourself. Under the sticker will be a small piece of rubber that hides a single screw. Remove the rubber piece and unscrew the screw.

Slide the faceplate off of the PlayStation 3. After the faceplate is removed, you can now separate the two halves of the plastic covering. Remove and set aside the top piece of the plastic case to expose the internal components of the PS3. On the underside of the top plastic covering, there will be a memory card slot at the bottom-right corner.

Locate and remove the Bluetooth circuit board. Remove the four screws to lift the Bluetooth board free. This is located at the bottom-left corner of the main body of the PS3 if you have the system flat on its side instead of standing up straight. This will look like a green rectangle with a tan metal covering.

Locate the small circuit board that controls the power and eject functions of the PlayStation 3. Remove the four Phillips-head screws in order to separate this piece from the body of the system. This is located at the bottom-right corner of the PS3, directly in front of the disc box.

Locate and remove the Blu-Ray/PS3 player. This is the large tan metal box that is located in the top right corner of the PS3. Unscrew the player and flip it upside down to expose the circuit board that controls it. If you want to remove the circuit board, there are five small screws that hold it in place.

Remove the power supply from the inside of the gaming system. This is located at the top-left corner inside the PS3. To remove this component, there will be two telephone-like plugs that have to be unplugged, one at the top and one at the bottom of the power supply. Additionally, there will be 13 screws that hold the power supply in place. The back and front plastic coverings of the PS3's shell will now easily slide free.

Remove the final internal component, which is the PS3's motherboard. In order to do this, remove the metal covering the rests on top of the motherboard. There will be 11 screws that border the metal covering as well as four screws in the very center, two from each of the rectangular center pieces. Once the screws are removed, the metal covering will lift off and the motherboard will be able to be removed.

But before you get to all these parts you must have gotten your DVD movies out.

Take care

Our playstation hard drive is corrupted. what

Well if your using the older model of PS3's (FAT ones) what you can do to attempt to fix it is power off your ps3. Press and hold the power button, you'll here a beep. keep holding until you hear two beeps quickly( e.g. beepbeep) one you hear that, let go of the power button. If done correctly you will see a screen that has some options on it. The option you want is Restore File System. If that does not fix it, and continue's to tell you that the Hard Drive is corrupted, then you need to buy a new hard drive unfortunately.
I've placed a Video here for you that might help visually and also with the "beep" timing.

How do we connect the playstation to sky broadband

Hiya Gina, The mysterious code you say you can't find, I think this is the Admin password, Usually found on the back of the router. The first number you entered was most likely to be the wireless key. If you can't find the admin password on your router, then look through your paperwork from Sky. Failing that give Sky a call. They will transfer you to their broadband help department who should tell you your admin password. You will then have to create a new one once your up and running.
Really hope this helps you. x

How do I hook my ps3 to the internet using a

http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstat...
That website has a great guide on how to setup your ps3 for internet connection.
This is what you need to hook up to the net for your PS3
1.You need a MODEM which is the "box thing" that connects to your pc.
1. You need a ROUTER which connects to your MODEM and in to your PC. The router allows for both the PC and the PS3 to use the internet at teh same time. Unplug the wire that goes into your PC and plug into your ROUTER so that the modem is connected to the router not the PC
3. You need to connect your PS3 to the router with an ethernet cable and your PC to the router with an ethernet cable
4. Go to that web site and follow the instruction on how to set up and account on your PS3 and get going online and have fun!! Good luck!

Was playing a game and

Hi da boiz,

Are you seeing any flashing red/yellow lights?

If so this is the red light error and you will find that is why the system will not turn on.

Why Does It Happen?

The GPU and the CPU are the 2 main chips in the system and they deal with all of the number crunching however they can get very hot and if they lose connection the system will either freeze up or turn off and give you the red flashing light.

How To Fix?

The key is stopping the heat build up and you can either send it in and they will fix it for you.

Bear in mind that for the PS3 red flashing light error you will be waiting for about 4 weeks and it will also cost you $150 for the repair bill!

Other Ways To Fix?

You can also use a good PS3 Repair Guide to fix it and this will show you how to stop the heat build up with a few household items.

Just make sure that you get a good guide there are some good ones out there!

Hope this helps and any questions let me know?

I have a generic battery

Hi shumarsm,

If you cannot pair your PS3 controller to your PS3 you might want to consider doing this simple troubleshooting. PS3 controllers do have a memory, there's a tiny hole at the back of the controller which is the reset button. You have to stick a paperclip in or anything that you can use for it. Then, turn on your ps3, put the usb in and press the PS button. It should sync straight away.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using Fixya.

Yahoo.comIm getting error code( 80710103

Strangely, this seems to be a pretty popular problem. You'll be using the internet just fine and then it'll cut out and not come back on.

To fix it you need to set your PS3 internet settings manually (as opposed to automatic, which is the default setting). You can do this by navigating to XMB > Settings > Network Settings > Internet Connection Settings.

It's probably easy enough to follow the on screen instructions, but just in case here's an online guide to setting it up manually.

Tryed to clean it

This is where you have to consider a LOT. Is it worth worrying about? If so are you willing to take the chance of taking it apart yourself to blow it out? If so.. here you can find a tutorial on how to do it. http://www.llamma.com/PS3/repair/PS3_disassembly_tutorial.htm
If no, but you want it cleaned, then find someone that specializes in game consoles and maintenance. A Cleaning shouldn't cost you too much.

MY CONCERN IS ACTUALLY FOR THE PLAYSTATION 3

Unfortunately, even if you dried the system, the damage might already be done, and it's more than likely out of warranty due to liquid damage. My advice would be to contact Sony about a repair, sorry.

The game freezes after loading

You're best bet is to send the system in for repair/checkup. You can search for a third party repair shop near you, or you can send it in to Sony. Know that repairs sometimes cost nearly as much as buying a new system.
If you don't want to do that, you can try cleaning out the dust in the system. Just take a can of compressed air and blow out the vents.
