There is mention of a reset for a CL900 system by pressing the SAS, Battery Status, and Power buttons at the same time http://support.motioncomputing.com/kb/KnowledgebaseArticle10597.aspx?Keywords=LE1700+Reset I can't verify this will work on the 1700. you need to install the Wacom driver available from their site- if it's still available- I have a copy of their drivers if it is not on motion's site.

try a power adapter with higher amperage- 19 volts 3.5 or better amps works well, or you could have a loose power plug on the tablet, or a bad battery...

That almost sounds like a dead battery, or your battery isn't holding a charge. Have you tried using it while it is still connected to the charger? If you do have it hooked to the charger power and it stays on, it's a bad battery. If if does the same thing while plugged in, it's a problem with the power supply in the tablet.
