Motion Computing LE1600 Tablet PC Questions & Answers
Power port on le1600 does not charge batteries.
In some Motion LE1600 tablet pcs, the AC adapter port becomes separated from the motherboard. It will charge in the convertible keyboard or docking station because the power comes from the USB connection (for the kb) or the dock connector (for the FlexDock). Motion used to fix this by repairing the solder joint but now they just replace the motherboard (very expensive). There are ways to solder this but the repair doesn't always last unless you have someone really good do it.
Pin does not work when touched to screen.
The stylus has a AAAA (yes, QUAD-A) battery in the body of the stylus - if this is dead, then the digitizer won't recognize the pen. That sounds like what is happening - the batteries can be found at bigger Radio Shacks or ordered online.
Motion Computing LE1600 Tablet PC won't charge.
know of similar problems. either the cable and connection end you have or the receiving end in the tablet. can be diagnosed by getting replacement charging cable. if the problem goes away then its the cable if not it is probably the receiving end in the tablet
I replaced the 30 G
Tried the same thing and got the same result using the motion computing DVD/CD external reader/burner.
Has anyone found an answer to this problem of trying to switch to a larger hard drive on the 1600 with format/installing? The new hard drive was not able to read the recovery disk with OS on it.
Thanks.
Hard drive upgrade
Swapping hard drives between two
LE1600's will give you an Windows activation fault. Serial numbers in
the Intel CPU's don't match.
If you call in to try and get another activation off your COA the code
you read them will result in them just wanting to put their hand in your
pocket for more money.
If you use Partition Magic (or equivalent) to copy the original hard
disk onto a new one (possibly larger) it won't result in a Windows
activation fault. Since yours has failed, you'll need another workaround.
Another option would be to buy a used one on EBay. I've bought them for less than $200.
The process is further complicated by the fact that Motion used different drives during the production process. Some connect with a ZIF connector and others with mini IDE.
Probably best to see what you have before anything else. I understand the mini IDE are no longer made.
I got my tablet fix and they deleted some programs
To find out if the program is actually installed, you can go to "add remove programs" in the "control panel". Look for the programs on this list. If it is not there, your programs were probably deleted. If they are on the list, they are probably corrupted.
If possible, I would take it back to the place that "fixed" it and give them a chance to correct it.
I would need to know what programs are damaged before I can provide further assistance.
Installation
istall the drivers manually , it will work again
I basically want to swap
Hello
in the bottom of the tablet you should have 1 or 2 covers that are held in with 2 to 4 screws.
under one of the covers you will find the hard drive. if both of the tablets are the same brand and model, just swapping out the disk from one to the other will be all that you have to do.
Hi .I am trying to Install WIN 7 on LE1600 from
As far as I am aware windows 7 has not been confirmed for tablets or win CE platform type devices
Check you manuals and any Cd's that came with the 1600 and see if there is some form of reset or original system restore ability.
Microsoft has a win7 compatibility check utility anyone wishing to try win 7 on these types of device is recommended to use that first to identify potential issues.
