My power slide button on
those are generic B.S. answers. The power switch is a flat tab that has two prongs on the rear side that interface a very small slide switch on the mother board. The mini slide switch has a plastic piece that sticks out about 3mm and the plastic part is unfortunately not very strong. the slide return spring may have become detached as well- this indicates major trauma to the slide switch in some way- and the repair is expensive because the parts are not readily available- hence the 400 price tag for a whole new board. Nowadays these tablets are dirt cheap. I'm guessing by how old this post is you have moved on to a newer tablet- if not I'll work with you to get it fixed- at a lot less as well.
Hard drive disappeared
this is a common problem on these le1700's. Can you hear the micro drive spinning up when you turn on the tablet? If you hear clicking the drive may have gone bad. If the drive is heard spinning up and doing normal whirr's and clicks it may be the connectors need to be reseated on the drive. Opening the panel for the drove and removing the 4 screws allows you access to the drive and the delicate ribbon cable attached to it. Carefully reseat the drive, or have a person that knows about zif (zero insertion force) drives reseat it for you. If it's still not working it's possible the cable itself went bad. ONLY OEM cables seem to work on these- the aftermarket ones are iffy. Also they type of drive seems to be important as well- Toshiba or Hitachi micro drives are o.k., but a micro ssd ziff seems to have less compatibility issues in my experience.
Motion computer battery
If you want your problem solved then you should provide a detailed account of what is going on with the device.
Plugged in not charging
try a power adapter with higher amperage- 19 volts 3.5 or better amps works well, or you could have a loose power plug on the tablet, or a bad battery...
Tablet starts up and goes right back off
That almost sounds like a dead battery, or your battery isn't holding a charge. Have you tried using it while it is still connected to the charger? If you do have it hooked to the charger power and it stays on, it's a bad battery. If if does the same thing while plugged in, it's a problem with the power supply in the tablet.
