Check on the back panel for a fuse. Usually a black knob with a curved arrow going 1/2 circle. push in and turn counter-clock wise or unscrew to release the fuse. Hopefully it has one like that. I would try a new HDMI cable that has the gold plated ends for higher resolutions. Some of the older non-plated HDMI cables seem to have difficulty with higher res DVD's. This is applicable especially to Blu-rays vs plain DVD's.

the unit has a voltage selector switch on the rear. Have you selected the 220v option. this will solve your need for a reduction transformer. If you have just gone ahead and fired it up in 110volt settings.... internal damage may have already occurred.

You will need to contact Onkyo directly and request the board from the parts department. I was not able to locate a part number for this as we are usually requested to perform component level repairs for these units.

My onkyo getting very hot
This is not normal, if you are using an entertainment centre, air flow is very important, 3" to 6" clearance on sides, back should be open, units should not be stacked. If that is not the issue, how many speakers are you running? if they are the proper numbers and they are matched, that is good.
