Krups km7005 water not heating nor hot plate

Mine had the same problem ... all the lights are on, but no heating on the plate, and no dripping of water.

After a weekend on the workbech, I've mastered this machine. The KM7005 has 2 x MicroTemp G4 thermal cutoff (TCO) fuses which interrupt the Live line, for overheat protection. Mine didn't overheat per se, but the TCO blew anyway. Not reset-able ... need to be replaced with a soldering iron. I'll be happy to advise you to fix this, or fix it for you. Write me at [email protected].

Krups XP7240 Auto Cappucino maker not working

Hi,

Well it seems that the unit steam holes has gone worn and does not in good condition, can be a deform surface inside that's why you have this kind of problem, this can be due to heat and esp.. the steam nozzle deform. Anyway the unit was still cover under warranty and you can send it back to them to change the defective steam parts that has been damaged.

Hoper this helps

XP7240 has stopped ectracting milk from canister, just blows steam

Do not push steam nozzle to much on the dispenser. Just pull it back 1mm or something. If pushed to the end there is no ejection and milk is not extraced fro the canister.

It just doesn't turn on anymore...

I had a similar problem and this is how I solved it:
There is a small & thin plastic frame behind the button which presses the actual switch if you push the on/off button. You can reach it by sliding up the alu colored frame and unscrewing the panel which contains the LCD display (torque screws !) .
In my case the plastic frame was broken and I glued it with special glue for polyethylene plastics.
(f.i. Pattex plastics glue with activator)

Krups xp 7240 cofee machine

Hi,
for the error code 06. (this is what I got from a guy on a tech support line)

The issue is with the waterfilter. If you haven't changed it for a long time - change it. If you recently got a new one follow these steps:
- take the filter out
- unplug the machine from electricity
- plug it back in
- install filter (go into prog- service- install new filter)

It should remove the error. Haven't tested that yet, but that's what I got :)

Good luck

When we turn it on

Hi,

More than likely there has been water or moisture leaking inside the unit that is shorting the power out.

Or the heating element insulation has failed which is shoting to earth and you require a new element fitted to rectify the problem.

The water that comes out

Basing on personal experience (you can find more on Google probably), solutions are:

On percolated (filter) coffee machines:

Check water temp, if water temp is insufficient , most common is scale heating element , faulty element, faulty thermostat.
Check if water is dripping right at the center of the filter, if it is dripping on one side because the orifice is clogged, that can result in weak coffee.
Coffee blend not well distributed on filter basket.

On Espresso machines:

Check water temp, same as filter coffee machines (thermostat element, scale on heating chamber).
Ensure that coffee is filled correctly in the filter cup (fill at level), and well pressed.
Ensure that the coffee mixture that you are using is not too coarse, buy the apposite one for espresso.
Ensure that you are not leaving the machine brewing for a time that is too long, and Italian coffee cup is very small, approximately one regular shot.

On the hob moka pots (espresso, Moka and Bialetti type):

This are the trickiest ones, you need art and practice to get a good espresso with a Moka, but when you learn, the result is better than what you may get with an home electrical espresso maker.
The frame on the hob must be not too strong, and the mixture coarse but well pressed, with water at level tag, or you will get a weak coffee.
On Mokas a good strategy is keeping hob at minimum, and turning up the flame at top when coffee starts coming out.

French and turkish cafetieres:

Ensure that you put enough coffee, water hot enough, and that you left the infusion enough time to get a strong coffee.

Note: insufficient pressure and clogged lines on electric machines never give you a weak coffee, exactly the opposite.
Not pressed mixture always gives weak coffee, but too much pressed mixture may give you coffee with bad taste.

Krups type 897, nespresso: Water leaking

I swaped the hose around.
The o-ring at the element end is bigger and can be held in properly by the clip at the pump end. The bracket/clamp at the element end holds in the smaller o-ring sufficiently.

No coffee

I had a similar problem with my XP 7240 with the coffee not coming out, but dripping through the machine and out the back. I found that overtime, there was a buildup of coffee in the "pod" area or percolation chamber and this was not properly removed. As a result, with additional cups being made, there was so much coffee compacted that it couldn't drip through.

I managed to clean it out by breaking up the compacted grains and it all worked fine. I also find that after each cup made, there is always some coffee grains left on the coffee cleaning tray above the grounds collector. I figured that this was the culprit as these grains would drop into the percolation chamber - adding this to the normal amount of coffee grains. It was never effectively cleaned out.

Now, I remove that tray after each cup, empty the grains and it seems OK. It's a pain, but I haven't had the problem for 2 months now.

Every now and then, I also get the vacuum cleaner and try to **** anything that might be oin there out.

I went to the Krups web site and pulled a copy of the manual for a different model with the same user interface. This solution worked fine. My model (on the baseplate) is AG E 15. The manual that I printed was for a FMF5. Cheers!
