turn your playstation off so the light is red, then hold the power button for 6-7 seconds til it beeps twice, and u should be good,

yellow light means your ps3 is wrecked $40 dollars or $50 to fix at the flea market if your ps3 is around 2 or more years old i would suggest buying a new one because the laser will probaly burn out soon

Odds are your disc reader is broken. If you have a warranty, you should try contacting either Sony or the retailer where you obtained your PS3 to get it fixed or replaced.

okay you got a notorious problem called the yellow light of death similar to the Xbox 360 red rings of death this is the same this is the same thing basically what you have to do is send it in to Sony to get it fixed or used craigslist.org just go there and search ps3 repair for a cheap and fast repair make sure that if you do use craigslist you don't get ripped of by easy fixes which don't last long to have a safe gard against this make sure that they offer warranty and are above 30 dollars they will also probably start that it isn't the "penny trick"

The cause of this problem is that the resolution set on your tv is not same as the output resolution of the PS3. To get over this problem just power off the PS3 then press and hold the power button infront of it for 10 seconds until you hear 3 beeps. Once it happens you will see the initial PS3 setup screen and you can just follow the on-screen instructions to set it up.

The disc reading problem is quite a common one!

It is caused by the laser coming away from the drive and you need to readjust the laser to get it to work.

Sounds bad but at least the drive is not broken JUST the laser needs readjusting.

Are you seeing any flashing red/yellow lights?

If so this is the red light error and you will find that is why the system will not turn on.

Why Does It Happen?

The GPU and the CPU are the 2 main chips in the system and they deal with all of the number crunching however they can get very hot and if they lose connection the system will either freeze up or turn off and give you the red flashing light.

How To Fix?

The key is stopping the heat build up and you can either send it in and they will fix it for you.

Bear in mind that for the PS3 red flashing light error you will be waiting for about 4 weeks and it will also cost you $150 for the repair bill!

Means there is a system board error that needs to be serviced by sony. Usually means the board needs to be re flowed

Two sanario, 1. your psp is semi brinked. maybe when you try to downgrade your psp or when you tryied to flash the firmware. or 2. your psp is BRINKED! in which cause its a heavy paperweight.

If its semi brinked google repairing semi brink psp. you might need to us a pandora battery.

if its brinked.... buy a new one....

You need to reflow the motherboard. You can do it yourself, I have many times, or send it to Sony for $150, and they will fix it. Look on you tube for Gilsky ps3 repair. The choice is yours.

It sounds like the system is having problems reading the disc. If this is the only game it happens with, then the game disc might be bad. If it happens with multiple games, there might be a problem with your PS3's disc drive.

This is a rather frustrating problem, with an even more frustration solution. Here is what you need to do:

1) Go to Sony's website on your computer and download the update.
2) Save the update on a USB flash drive.
3) Plug the flash drive into your PS3.
4) Turn your PS3 one and try to do the update.

More than likely this will not work the first time. Most users have to repeat step 4 a few times before it will work. Also, you should probably wait to do this until tomorrow, because Playstation Network is currently down, and when it comes back on the servers will be flooded.

Try cleaning the disc..if this does not work i suggest u contact the store were u bought the game.

1. Power Off the PS3 via the power switch in back and power back on w/switch.
2. Hold Power Button on the Front until you hear 3 beeps.
3. Then go through the initial setup and then run a full Format via System > Format. (will take approx 3 1/1 hours). You may need to have our AV cables ready if your using HDMI (in case HDMI isn't detected after initial reset).
4. Restore your backup you made prior to doing factory/hard reset (optional, if you created a backup)

From what you have said it sounds like you have the RED LIGHT ERROR

The main causes are Hardware failure, overheating or wear & tear.

You may need to perform simple maintenance, clean or in some cases adjust settings.

To get the best advice on where to start I recommend a PS3 Repair guide, From this you can fix the problem at home and avoid any large repair bills. Its easier than it sounds when you have help from the guide.

The other solution would be to send the console off to Sony, This is free if your still in warranty. If your console is out of warranty then the usual price of repair is $150

The AOSS is not such a button but more a feature of your wireless router. If you enable this you must make sure that your router is compatible with it AOSS. It is kind of like a special kind of wireless signal that only certain routers and devices can use. It is likely that you will have a standard wireless router rather than one that supports AOSS but if you have a router that supports AOSS you can use it as it is a little more secure than a standard connection.

Is it flashing a yellow light? if so then your looking at calling sony or your insurance company to replace the fan because it has failed and is causing a system failure.
Try replacing the power cord.
